The deck uses extensive mana ramping, including the Urza's Lands, to bring out several powerful artifact creatures, decked out with strong equipment. Forty four of the cards in the deck are artifacts, increasing the potency of cards that trigger by the number of artifacts.

The Urza's Lands ( Urza's Mine , Urza's Power Plant and Urza's Tower) take unfortunately long to get out, but once they do the deck ends up with a huge mana surplus. Getting out those three lands is aided with 4x Expedition Map. In the meantime, more mana ramping is accomplished with Palladium Myr and Semblance Anvil, helping to ensure that even if the primary Urza's combo hasn't triggered yet, at least the deck will still be well fed for mana. On the other hand, Lodestone Golem helps ensure that the opposing deck is impeded in it's own mana production.

Even with this deck's high average CMC, once it starts generating enough mana it's able to utilize all of the cards in hand, every turn. Staff of Nin is important for maintaining a card advantage, to keep the machine's engine running

So what to do with all those lands? Mostly artifact creatures and equipment with a couple of other powerful artifacts. Early game, Etched Champion usually has protection against all colors making it a solid attacker or blocker. Later, Darksteel Sentinel lets me attack over and over, pummeling most decks, and it can even be played as a surprise, to kill a reckless attacker. Steel Hellkite can quickly evade and overwhelm while using it's strong removal mechanism; it can even be pumped FTW. Once the deck's mana engine gets going, Platinum Emperion can be brought out and ensures victory against many decks. Late game, when mana is no longer scarce, Gargoyle Castle can be converted into an extra artifact creature. Because of how many artifacts are in this deck (44), Cranial Plating is especially vicious throughout the game. Infiltration Lens either provides a creature with evasion or gives me a card advantage (both early and late game). Mid game, Prototype Portal helps with card advantage by replicating any card (even a creature or Darksteel Citadel. Late game, Darksteel Forge makes the whole deck indestructible.

Because this is an artifact deck, I'm sure there are many artifacts that I could have added to this deck, but haven't. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also, any ideas for getting the deck going faster and more reliably would be especially useful. I know Urza's decks are a bit too slow to be really competative. Are there any cards that could help solve this problem (aside from Expedition Map)?
