Creature (3)

After playing a WW Battlequest deck for awhile I have decided to try to revamp the deck with a new twist. I knew my biggest problem with playing that deck would be recovering from a board sweep. When it came down to playing decks that had them I felt there wasn't a whole lot of skill involved. It was just a race to see if I could kill them before they wiped the board. Also if they can withstand the rush through turn 2-4, chances are they are going to win. After that they probably have bigger creatures out than mine and they can chump block my big swingers and kill them due to low toughness. Now most peoples solution to this problem is they say build G/W quest, but thats not my style. I refuse to just copy a deck list for the sake of placing at a tourney.

So all of that leads to my attempt at solving these problems. I have decided to pull a few cards from my WW Battlequest and try throwing blue into the mix. Mainboard I am using blue for deckstacking and card draw. I am adding Preordain and See Beyond 1. It's easier to make a call when you know what you are drawing into and 2. The card draw helps me keep the pressure on past the initial rush and can help me quickly recover from a board wipe. Also I am including Unsummon I believe this card gives me a few options. I can bounce one of their blockers before I swing, I can bounce a scary attacker or I can bounce my own creature for counters on quest. Sideboard I am putting in a counter package to deal with burn and creature removal. I think that may be a better option than Kor Firewalker and Refraction Trap sideboard because counter is useful vs. other decks as well vs. having 8 cards sideboard that are only useful against red. The cards I am pulling are Accorder Paladin, Squadron Hawk and Mox Opal. Mox Opal helps with the initial explosion, but does nothing for me really past turn 4-5. Accorder Paladin is a good card, but it is just too easy to deal with for an opponent, any kind of chump block takes it out. Squadron Hawk is a great card but honestly I was never really happy to see it. That may change after installing the blue but then the problem is I'm not sure what to replace with it.

Anyways. +1 if you like and please comment if you don't and let me know why. I am always willing to return the favor, just leave a link. Would like to try this out at the next FNM.
