In essence, this deck controls your opponent until they deck themselves. It's time consuming, infuriating to play against, and a blast to pilot.
The engine of this deck is
Dictate of Kruphix
. Get this on the field as soon as you can and do your best to protect it. Your draws are far superior to your opponents because while they are trying to land threats on the board, you're just drawing answers.
Codex Shredder
is an odd card but is essential in this deck. The milling a single card a turn is usefull because it really adds up, as you will be taking many turns every game, and it makes things like "scry" and
Courser of Kruphix
less good. But, the abilty to grab cards from your graveyard is where
Codex Shredder
shines. Sacking a shredder to bring back a Render Silent to counter a threat and end your opponents turn is bliss.
The next important card is Trading Post. This card is fantastic in this turbo draw deck. Its main functions are lifegain, easily achieved by pitching your extra cards that
Dictate of Kruphix
won you, and the ability to grab artifacts back from the graveyard. Sacrificing your shredders to bring back
Dictate of Kruphix
and Render Silent is mandatory. Trading Post allows you to buy the shredders back while supplying you with a discouraging amount of life gain.
Why Render Silent over Dissolve? Because the point of this deck is avoid ALL of your opponents threats, not stall long enough to play your own. This means that you and your opponent will have a full hand at all times. Simply counter their first cast every turn and watch them move to discard. Also, because you end up drawing 3 to 4 cards a turn, the scry mechanic really becomes lackluster.
This deck has gone 4-0 at 6 FNM events. Placed in TOP 16 in the Star City Games State tourney (MN). Taken 1st place on Nyx Gameday. And placed in the Top 25 at the Legion Games TCG player Gold Event.
