A first draft of my Esper Zombie list modifying my current list the-legion-of-rot. There are a lot of new cards I am toying around with and I am happy to take suggestions on how to continue fine tuning this list.

House Dimir and the Golgari Swarm gave our Queen a few new items for her monarchy to remain the mightiest in the land:

Mausoleum Secrets is a fantastic tutor for us since we’ll have plenty of creatures being dumped by Varina to fuel undergrowth. Since most of the deck is Black, it should get us just about anything we need.

Midnight Reaper is another wonderful source of card draw and Varina’s life gain can help mitigate the damage taken.

Necrotic Wound is a graveyard fueled Path to Exile that our deck will make great use of. The exile is particularly relevant in a meta where gods and eldrazi titans run rampant.

Doom Whisperer is not a zombie but our Queen welcomes it nonetheless as his Surveil ability is an incredible way to set up big plays. We can use it to dump creatures in the graveyard for mass reanimation; we can use it to get pesky lands out of our way; or we can use it to set up better draws. A 6/6 flampler is no joke either so the zombie horde welcomes this nightmarish beast with open arms.

Time will tell if other Surveil or Undergrowth cards will be relevant for Varina but these 4 are certainly the critical additions.
