Varolz, Scavenger Deck

Casual

Zelemihr

Sideboard

Creature (2)

There are some creature cards that are heavy hitters with an incredibly low CMC. The reason is that these heavy hitter hit both sides of the battlefield indiscriminately. Phyrexian Dreadnought is one such creature. You get a 12/12 for 1 colorless mana. The catch is that you have to sacrifice creature until you reach 12 total power's worth.

The way to play this deck is to let this creature die as it comes into play. Get it into your graveyard as quickly as possible, use Varolz to put those counters on your Primordial Hydra, and if Corpsejack Menace is out, all the better.

If you choose, you can change tactics by playing Torpor Orb and keeping the Phyrexian Dreadnought without having to sacrifice anything. Additionally, you can cast Grave Pact to take advantage of all your creatures dying, and make your opponents sacrifice. At this point Lord of Extinction becomes handy.
