A very interesting Eldrazi Idea I had. It’s BUG for starters, giving you a decent choice of control and counter magic as well as removal. The real bread and butter though is the creatures. Eternal Scourge is where I got this idea in the first place.
Eternal scourge can be played from exile and is exiled anytime it’s targeted by an opponents spell. Main idea is, get Eternal scourge out early with either Eye of Ugin or Eldrazi Temple. Now he may be countered, but don’t worry we have backup. Eldrazi mimic works especially well with eye of ugin if you have them both turn one. Eldrazi mimic provides fodder as well as another slightly less aggressive alternative to eternal mimic. Once you get those critters out, you control your opponent with cards like thoughtseize and Inquisition of Kozilek or mental mistep and remand. You’d keep the other guys on the field by using Supernatural Stamina, which gives them a good boost and bring them back from the dead for a turn. Rancor also found a home in this deck because of its reoccurring value, which pairs perfectly with my reoccurring creatures. I’ve also included life goes on as a nice way to gain back life after mental misstep plays and life as a counter against aggro and burn.
The very apparent problem of this deck however is the lack of creatures. Being that I only have 9 creatures and 8 of them being really important, it’s going to be hard to find these creatures in your opening hand. That’s why I have card draw. Remand is a great stalling spell but comes with the great added bonus of drawing a card. Serum visions and opt are also great for cycling through your deck. You can use fetchlands as well to give your deck a good shuffle.
Emrakul, the promised end is in the deck as a slight gimmick as well as a win condition if the game draws out too long. Being that I’ll have at least 3 different card types in my graveyard by the time I’d cast him as well as having any eldrazi lands out, it’s not hard to imagine a scenario in which I’d cast him.
Please leave feedback and tell me what you think of this deck. I’m nt used to playing BUG so I don’t know 100% on what some staples are.
