Hello fellow Planeswalkers, today I am showcasing my favorite & main Modern deck I have been evolving for about 7 years now. Though the name and some cards change, the core remains the same. It's something I like to call Amped Delirium Shadow. Updated for MH3! I am utilizing Grim Flayer & Dragon's Rage Channeler to get cards into my graveyard more effectively for Traverse the Ulvenwald, Tarmogoyf & Nethergoyf and also to pump themselves. Traverse can then be used to tutor our Death's Shadow, other threats or any lands in a pinch.

Why Delirium?

Delirium is a keyword that received some much needed Modern love in MH2. When there are 4 or more different card types in your Graveyard, cards with Delirium gain additional stats or effects. This makes these cards worth more value overall than their Mana Value.

• 3x Traverse the Ulvenwald effectively grants our deck additional copies of any of our threats. This adds so much consistency to the deck.
• 4x Dragon's Rage Channeler Surveils for you whenever you cast a non-creature spell, making turning the Delirium on that much easier. Plus it becomes a better Delver of Secrets   when Delirium is active.
• 2x Grim Flayer is an Eldritch Moon favorite of mine. A Trample Bear that can Surveil on player damage. He gets +2/+2 when Delirium is active.

How the Deck Works

Similar to how Grixis functions, we're looking to damage ourselves to make our Death's Shadow bigger for the midgame.

• In the early game, we have Dragon's Rage Channeler, Nethergoyf, Grim Flayer & Tarmogoyf for threats. Thoughtseize, which is a staple for this deck, is also a viable turn 1 play. It gives us knowledge of our opponent while being able to remove big threats. The 2 damage it makes us take is just icing on the cake. Inquisition of Kozilek is here to round out our handrip.

• In our land base, we're running primarily shocks and fetch lands to help aid in this strategy. Revitalizing Repast  / Old-Growth Grove   is ran as a singleton for its great utility.

• Midgame, we'll be looking to drop our Death's Shadow and Scourge of the Skyclaves. Cards like Footfall Crater and Temur Battle Rage will help you close out the game.

Cantrips Without Blue?

Mishra's Bauble actually works really well in our favor. A free spell then nets us draw and knowledge. Your opponent just used a scry and you want to know what it is? Not sure if you should use your fetch? Bauble is there to help you out! Plus, it's an Artifact, so it lends well to the Delirium strategy.

Traverse the Ulvenwald is there to tutor our Shadow, other creatures or lands in a pinch for 1 CMC for added consistency.

Other Supporting Spells

• Amped Raptor can be played to generate value. Every single spell in our deck can be cast for free off of this dino.
• Lightning Bolt is good for removal and for finishing games.
• Unholy Heat is a Delirium removal spell that hits both Creatures and Planeswalkers. 6 damage for 1 Mana is absolutely incredible.
• Wish is a singleton to cast anything from our sideboard. This comes in clutch in some matchups.
