Karlov grows himself, and has removal built-in. The deck is mostly life-gain triggers, since each individual one triggers Karlov. Extort works fairly well with this goal, since each activation triggers Karlov. There are other creatures in the deck that benefit from life gain, especially Blood Baron of Vizkopa , which can easily close out a game. I intentionally didn't add any infinite combos, cheap win-cons (i.e. Felidar Sovereign ), or tutors.
