Nekusar, the Mindrazer is basically Walter White. His blue card draw is the best around, but damned if that addiction gets painful.

My play group is typically fine with draw 2/lose 2 from Nekusar early game, but he needs a decent amount of protection. It's pretty reasonable to hit the entire table for the win. A damage increase from Fate Unraveler / Kederekt Parasite /etc. along with Wheel and Deal and Twincast is 28 damage. Or Liliana's Caress and Nekusar with a wheel can reasonably hit for 15+ damage. Things get even sweeter when he's wearing his Basilisk Collar or wielding a Loxodon Warhammer .

Recent changes have focused on lowering my average CMC and increasing ramp. I also wanted to reduce my reliance on Nekusar, so I included a couple Niv-Mizzets, The Locust God , and graveyard fun with Lazav, Dimir Mastermind , Puppeteer Clique and Wrexial, the Risen Deep .

Notable exclusions:

• Spiteful Visions far too often I've put myself within easy striking distance because of this card.

• Seizan, Perverter of Truth doesn't trigger for each card draw. Not worth the 5 mana!

• Viseling was replaced by Fevered Visions which is all-around better

• Underworld Dreams is hard to cast for 3B. I already have a lot of ways to ping opponents per card and casting too many of them will forge an alliance against me.

• Forced Fruition also makes me the common enemy #1.

• Consuming Aberration is easy to chump-block and this isn't primarily a mill deck.

• Dragon Mage is powerful but has to connect and has high CMC.

• Propaganda is only a deterrent against going wide, and even still not that much. I'd rather have Fog Bank .

• Whispering Madness is not very good when I don't really attack.

• Skyscribing is best when combo'd with massive mana generation, which I lack.
