This is an amazing mill deck I found. It was made by Bittermellon and I decided to try it, modify it, and make it as efficient as possible ! I think it looks really cool and might have ways to become really competitive ! For now, I'm just trying to figure out a way to protect the 1/1's and make the mana as efficient as possible. (Also have a bit of removal). The Maybeboard will be full of cards I'm currently thinking about !
The deck focuses on two things, quick milling or simply punch your opponent with Knight of the Reliquary. All of this with the power of the card, Retreat to Coralhelm. The insanity of the card in the deck is it's ability to both scry for answers and make your infinite combo happen !
Comboes include :
Infinite milling;Hedron Crab or Altar of the Brood + Sakura-Tribe Scout or Walking Atlas + Retreat to Coralhelm + Azorius Chancery, Selesnya Sanctuary, Simic Growth Chamber or Oboro, Palace in the Clouds. What this combo does is simple, Hedron Crab and Altar will mill your opponent, while you juggle your bounce land and untap your 1/1 land setter.
Another Infinite mill:
Ruin Ghost + Plains, Prairie Stream or Canopy Vista + Altar or Crab + Retreat to Coralhelm (Works the same way as above, except that Ghost only need to juggle any white land.)
One Shot Knight Lady;Knight of the Reliquary + Retreat to Coralhelm and then simply sac all of your lands, untap Knight everytime and make sure to get : Rogue's Passage so that the opponent can't possibly chump block and Sejiri Steppe to make sure she won't be exiled or destroyed while you execute the combo.
Knightfalling Lady Mill Punch Combo: Hedron Crab + Knight of the Reliquary + Retreat to Coralhelm. With this combo, you can both mill out and one shot your opponent, which might be overkill, but is awesome nonetheless. This combo is also useful if you somehow lost Sejiri Steppe. In this case, even if an opponent cast an exile/destruction spell that is on the stack, she will be able to mill before dying. Same goes if you've lost Rogue's Passage to land destruction or any other effect that will stop it.
These can all be done by turn 3 (Except the last one) !
Cards that I am unsure to keep currently :
Mana Tithe, simply because it's usually not very helpful, but this deck often has mana laying around and it felt nice to have a bit of protection for my creatures and myself.
Path to Exile, it seems unnatural to me to play absolutely no removal in a deck, but perhaps I am wrong. For now, it's simply there because it is a powerful and simple card in white that I feel does it's job well.
Birds of Paradise, having a manadork in such a heavy mana deck might seem useless, but I find myself wanting to draw it very often. Sakura-Tribe Scout Also does some pseudo manadorking because of the extra land I get in play, but I felt like a little more would be nice since speed is truly what makes this deck strong.
Idyllic Tutor Though I have absolutely no reason to remove it currently, it slows down the deck. It however gives you what you need pretty fast. I'm not to sure about how many I want. Sames goes for the cards mentioned above.
Cards that I might want :
Crab Umbra Though I haven't tried it yet, it feels like if might have a lot of synergy in the deck, and it might protect my critters just enough ! (Also prevents wrath effect).
Emerge Unscathed For the same reason of the card above, but would also protect against exile. (However, no wrath protection.)
Jaddi Offshoot This is a rather amusing card, it might just be strong enough to keep myself alive against burn... but again it is a 0/3 and Spellskite might just do the job better.
Rebuff the Wicked Ah, white counterspell... I don't know if it would be any better than Mana Tithe, but darn is it a cool card.
Ruin Ghost This card is pretty great, but it does require 1 white mana to operate everytime, which would slightly limit it, but it is very very strong... I really don't know if I want it. I might replace Mana Tithe or Path to Exile with a couple of those.
Currently wandering what would be the best anti-pyroclasm, and such.
Suggestions and critique would be appreciated !
