A bit more of an aggro lifegain deck revolving around Ajani's Pridemate. Make em huge and keep returning all your dudes with Return to the Ranks.
Based off of my more control-y W/B Suicide Constellation deck.
Mainboard:
Ajani's Pridemate: The deck was originally just built as a lifegain deck so I got really excited when m15 reprinted this guy. Lots of the cards gain you bits of life that will make the pridemate a force to be reckoned with.
Nyx-Fleece Ram: Pretty sweet combo with Ajani's Pridemate. These will set up a pretty nice wall and gain you a life each turn.
Soldier of the Pantheon: What an amazing card in a wedge format! He'll gain lots of life for you and Ajani's Pridemate. At one mana, I can't think of anything I'd rather have...
Hopeful Eidolon
:...This is a close second though! You can always have another reason for fueling Ajani's Pridemate. You can even bestow it later on to make a 1/6 life faucet.
Underworld Coinsmith
: This guy is a big player in the deck. He'll gain a lot of life every time you play an enchantment. Have I mentioned that I run Ajani's Pridemate in this deck? You can gain even more life from all of my things that are there to gain me life. Now that you have just stupid amounts of life, you have the greatest mana sink in the game. You'll be able to hold up the fort with your creatures and sit back and kill the opponent with this ability unless they flip over the table first.
Return to the Ranks: Note that all the fore mentioned share something in common; their =<2 mana costs. So you'll just constantly have all of your creatures forever. Oh and since you can choose how your etb effects stack, I can bring back, say, 1 Ajani's Pridemate, 1
Underworld Coinsmith
,1 Nyx-Fleece Ram, and 1
Hopeful Eidolon
. Now you gain life three times, have a 5/5 Pridemate as well as 3 other creatures for at most 6 mana. Though you could also just tap some of my creatures to not have to pay any mana at all! Imagine if you had another
Underworld Coinsmith
out.
Herald of Torment
: This will help you get some damage in to help out your
Underworld Coinsmith
finish up your opponent. He's an enchantment so constellation goes off and you can handle the life loss downside.
Athreos, God of Passage: Maybe this can deter your opponent from killing your things until you draw a Return to the Ranks. Three damage is a lot and if you get to recast your things you'll probably get to pop off constellations. He's gonna be animated pretty often, so that huge body is pretty relevant.
Wingmate Roc: Imagine the LOTR eagles swooping in dropping Ajani's Pridemates all over Mordor.
Sorin, Solemn Visitor: When hiding behind the wall of immortal creatures you've built up, Sorin, Solemn Visitor can really ruin your opponent's day by dropping more creatures or making your own just downright disgusting. the lifelink from his +1 lasts until your next turn, so everything can still block with it. Unfortunately these lifelink triggers wont buff Ajani's Pridemate until after the initial damage is dealt. But that's still cool. -6 is pretty much a guaranteed win in the next few turns against anything but Elspeth, Sun's Champion.
Banishing Light: Gives the deck great removal against everything while also interacting with your own creatures.
Read the Bones: Card draw derp... These slots are kinda up in the air. I want to try out Grim Haruspex/Sign in Blood/
Pain Seer
/etc. since I'm not really sure what's best right now. In any case, the life loss is no problem in this deck, so I'm using Read the Bones right now.
Sideboard:
Still in progress, but I think I've got a pretty good looking board right now. Stormbreath Dragon is pretty difficult, but pretty much everything else is handled pretty easily with the mainboard.
