Standard Aggro Combo Mill UB (Dimir)

Ocule

Maybeboard

Summon forth the magic to lobotomize your opponents severely crippling their battle capability. Then using their lost memories to deal the killing blow.

Made this deck on a budget, mostly for casual play among my friends so i have a bit of a wishlist for it. Like Lazav, Dimir Mastermind, Evil Twin and more mind grinds or any of the Jace planeswalkers but for now it has proven itself to be a very potent combo/aggro mill.

DirectionsOpen with cheap one and two drop creatures like Jace's Phantasm and Wight of Precinct Six then mill them out with Mind Sculpt quickly blowing up those creatures into 5/5 creatures with flying and the wights that will continue to grow throughout the game. Then get the Consuming Aberration in play as quickly as possible to utilize its mill effect to get it as big as possible as quick as possible. At around 5 mana or so combo up the Duskmantle Guildmage 's first ability with Mind Sculpt for an easy seven damage, stack up aberation with it for even more. More mana can stack more damage with any of the milling cards with his first ability. When your aberation is big enough finish your opponent off with Essence Harvest which will take him from 20 hp to dead in 1 shot if no damage has been dealt. Use Psychic Strike and Grisly Spectacle to keep the field clear of any threats and continue your milling. With this ive won as early as turn five with phantasms and wights, or with aberation and harvest. For fun cards: Sepulchral Primordial and Necropolis Regent

Most games give me a Jace's Phantasm Within the first few turns of play if it is not in my opening hand. Pairing him immediately with Mind Sculpt and he is nearly powered up as early as turn 3. I usually take a few hits but i can afford to lose the health until he is powered up and ready to go playing any cheap excuse i have to mill out 10 cards into his graveyard and start wailing with 5/5 fliers. Consuming Aberration seems to be the key cornerstone to deck so getting it out as soon as he has cards in the graveyard is a must but with so many playing blue in their deck waiting until they are tapped enough in order to play him without getting countered. Next I focused entirely on getting the most out of him while he was alive, usually by turn 5 or 6 being too big to deal with by damage alone, i have him attack every turn and I cast spells like Death's Approach just to trigger his effect. If he has not dealt with your aberrations or killed you by the time 20+ cards have been milled and there is an aberration on the field Essence Harvest is a 1 hit KO. If the aberrations are dealt with then rellying on the phantasms for damage, and the wights are not a bad idea.

The deck seems to do very well as long as the field is clear. I need to play with it more to see if there is something i can do against blitz/burn or hard control decks who can shut down the consuming aberrations. Other than them being vulnerable to insta pop spells, the deck has performed spectacularly against any deck it goes up against. Between the psychic strikes and the grisly spectacle they do a decent job of making sure the field is clear. I am skeptical against boros who can get great blitzes very early in the game but we shall see. Also Essence Harvest is so incredibly broken in this deck since it was casual. Its a 3 mana winner.

For improving it i think dropping Necropolis Regent is a good idea i never really got to abuse her much in this deck. She is nice to have but she hasnt had her chance to shine. Also the Balustrade Spys are not really being as awesome as id hoped. They usually serve as fodder after their mill is triggered.
