Competitive Build & Primer ->-> Jund Poison [HOU Update]

I've been seeing A LOT of various decks like this since were moving towards Hour of Devastation. This is an alternate build of the Original Jund Poison deck I made a while back. This build focuses on the use of Obelisk Spider to drain our opponents life total. For a primer, and a better idea of how these decks operate, check out the link to the competitive Jund Poison deck above.

Here are the main combo pieces & win conditions, primarily- Obelisk Spider. A lot of decks, including my original build, features Soul-Scar Mage and a reliance on burn spells (Shock, Magma Spray, Galvanic Bombardment, ect.) in order to sling poison counters and create tokens. This deck focuses primarily on the abuse of Obelisk Spider...we want to drain our opponents life total to zero as quickly and efficiently as possible. Although we don't need Hapatra, Vizier of Poison or Nest of Scarabs here, it would be silly not to still implement them. They are key factors in speeding up the process.

This card is certainly a gift for Jund Poison decks. Hapatra, Vizier of Poison used to be the face of the build...that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. This guy does a lot for you- gives you card advantage, distributes counters, and comes back from the dead. The only bad thing I suppose (which isn't even that bad) would be the mana cost. Bontu the Glorified found his way into my previous deck, and worked VERY well. Comparing these two side by side, they both have their own advantages & work well here. The Scorpion God does more what we need it to do, but Bontu the Glorified is a serious beater. Cards like Bone Splinters or Altar's Reap are ideal additions to any deck that wants to play Bontu. They help you not only by drawing cards or getting rid of potential threats, but by allowing you to attack or block with him. The more ways a single card can help us, the better, and those are two great examples.
