The idea for this deck came after someone joked with me about my love of budget EDH decks and how the cheapest one I could build would be an Ashling the Pilgrim deck. This Ashling + 99 Mountains deck is more of a meme than a legitimate deck... So, of course, I felt the need to actually build it. I am going to start with Ashling + 99 Mountains and then go from there, finding budget additions that will primarily serve to either 1) ramp faster or 2) deal more damage. Preferably, we want to be using Ashling way ahead of curve.

The name of this deck came from a memory of watching the Lord of the Rings with the Dunlendings pillaging Rohan and burning villages. I was then reminded of the Addams Family Values, where Wednesday Addams states, "I have decided to ... burn your village to the ground." It happens to be a Thanksgiving pageant, so there is a bit of an out-of-context connection to Ashling being a "Pilgrim."
