Manipulation is the name of the game here. You want to be able to make Keranos, God of Storms do exactly what you want him to do. (Or Melek, Izzet Paragon, depending on who you want to use as your commander that day. Personally, I use Keranos for more competitive playgroups, and Melek for more casual ones. If you really want to change things up, Nin, the Pain Artist and Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind are also valid choices for alternate commanders.)

So we've got scry, in the form of Crystal Ball , Temple of Epiphany, Mystic Speculation and others. We've got pseudo-scry in Halimar Depths and other things.

Library manipulation? No problem. Madblind Mountain is shuffle on demand. Need a particular spell for that game-changing moment? Mystical Tutor can put it there. And if you've got Melek, Izzet Paragon on the field, you can get access to it right away.

Drawing cards seems good to me, especially if it's the kind that denies your opponents access to their threats. So cards like Incendiary Command and Molten Psyche are invaluable, especially if they get copied, either by Melek or by one of the many copy spells in the deck. Jace's Archivist is also great, because it's an effect that you can use basically whenever you want to, as long as it's still on the field. If it's just pure draw that you're looking for (and thus, draw that only benefits you), Recurring Insight and Brainstorm are your best friends. (If you're wanting to emphasize a group hug-ish aspect during early game so your opponents don't know what you're really up to until it's too late, cards like Howling Mine are perfect for this.) And the best part? If you've got Psychosis Crawler on the field, all that card draw is going to translate into a lot of hurting put on your foes.

And speaking of copying spells, we've got tons of ways to do that. We've got creatures that can do it, like Djinn Illuminatus , we've got instants that can do it like Reverberate and Increasing Vengeance... Hell, even enchantments are getting in on the fun! Dual Casting and Cast Through Time are great for getting those extra copies in of those spells that you just have to go off.

Going into one of those competitive gaming groups where you can't just screw around and expect to still have a fighting chance? Infinite combos are your friend, so Curiosity + Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind and Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind + Ophidian Eye are both in here, so you're not completely up Golgari creek without a paddle.

Other synergies in the deck:

-Enter the Infinite + Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind or Enter the Infinite + Psychosis Crawler = GG.

-Into the Maw of Hell + Stuffy Doll and Blasphemous Act + Stuffy Doll both translate to a lot of damage coming straight at your opponents' face.

-Gorgon's Head + Nin, the Pain Artist is instant-speed spot removal, plus card advantage for whoever you decide to ping. Can anyone say "EDH politics"?

-Nin, the Pain Artist + Stuffy Doll is card advantage for you alone. Because sometimes, you just plain don't want to spread the love.

-Gorgon's Head + Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind is above, plus spot removal.

-Blasphemous Act + Reverberate is basically board wipe (plus maybe a player death if Stuffy Doll is out).

As always, comments, suggestions, and +1's/brohoofs are always appreciated! (Specifically, should I try to include cards with the Miracle mechanic in the deck?)
