One of my new decks that has quickly been growing on me...literally growing! This deck works around counters such as elvolve,
Master Biomancer
,
Kalonian Hydra
, and Vorel, the Hull Clade. If you want to make sure your opponent losses the game with life in the negative double digits, this is the deck for you.
-------------------
Deck Description
Master Biomancer
: He makes sure that every one of your creatures comes in with some counters for you to play with.
Vorel, the Hull Clade: Doubles the counters on a creature with them. Trust me, this turns out huge in the game. Your opponent won't be expecting a 4/4 hydra or 1/2 bird to get so big so fast.
Kalonian Hydra
: He's a beater that turns other, smaller, creatures into beaters. This guy gets big fast guys! Not only does he double himself, but with everything else that pumps him, it's easy to get him swinging for 16 his first attack phase. And he has trample! A 1000/1000 is usless unless you have some kind of evasion.
Primordial Hydra
: Another beater. Not as good as Kalonian, but he still doubles every turn. I really don;t feel any shame putting him out as a 1/1 cause in this deck he gets bog so fast. Once he gets to 10, which happens quickly, he has trample.
Scavenging Ooze: A solid, efficient, creature that can get pumps and shut down most aggro decks like mono red.
Cloudfin Raptor: A good card to put out on turn one. He will get his pump for evolve to get that counter on him. By turn 2, you're going to swinging in the sky. And he only gets bigger, even after his evolve is useless with this deck.
Birds of Paradise: I know he's a 0/1 in a deck that seems like he shouldn't fit. But he really does. Mana is always good in this deck, it helps you get the mass of 3 cost and 4 cost cards out on a turn or 2 early. And just because he is a 0/1, doesn't mean he won't get bigger, I usually find myself attacking with him.
Sylvan Caryatid: This is probably another card that some might question. But as above, it give you any mana, and unlike the birds, it shuts down a lot of aggro early. In my mind, it's a bit of a broke card with it giving any color, and having hexproof and 3 toughness for just 2 cost.
Give / Take
: Awesome card guys! Not only does it put counters on guys, but it also works as a really good card draw.
Bioshift
: not only does bioshift get counters on cards that might not have the ability to get them like Birds of Paradise, but it also can be a trap if someone doesn't block a creature or can protect if someone tries to burn one of your creatures and you can save him by moving counters.
Rapid Hybridization: every deck needs some removal.
--------------------
*Sideboard
Lightning Greaves: For control decks.
Leyline of Lifeforce
: For those decks that just seem to counter everything
Mana Leak: More to be safe
Rapid Hybridization: Sometimes the opponent just puts out too dangerous of creatures too quick.
Scavenging Ooze: For those aggro decks.
Spell Pierce: also for control decks.
------------------
Cards that i've considered and didn't put in include.....
Gyre Sage: I don't want to wait for mana on turn 2 or 3. I want to be able to use mana abilities on the next turn i get a mana dork out.
Thrun, the Last Troll: Leyline takes care of that.
Gilder Bairn: To slow, requires another card to tap/untap it.
Increasing Savegry: Cost too much and I like the options with
Give / Take
better.
