Kemba, Kha Regent was the first commander deck I spent a lot of time building myself. At the time, I was a poor college student who only dreamt about splurging $15 on a single piece of cardboard, so I was missing lots of staple cards you'd expect to see in an equipment-based deck. Over the years, I slowly assembled more and better cards -- now, a decade later (and with an adult salary), it was time to revisit Kemba and upgrade her to the kha she deserves to be.

Kemba, Kha Regent is a very beginner-friendly commander. Your job is to play equipment, attach it to Kemba to make her big and scary, and she'll passively make an army of cats. You will need to tap into your aggressive side because the faster you can get Kemba on the field and equipped, the faster you'll start building an intimidating board presence to keep opponents at bay. Something I love about Kemba is that she bounces back easily. If Kemba dies, your equipment stays on the field (assuming no one hit you with a Planar Cleansing), and can be attached to other creatures until you can get Kemba back -- and even if she becomes outrageously expensive, putting all that equipment on a random creature on your field is just as frightening! There are also plenty of ways the deck buffs all your cats/tokens, so even a Kemba that doesn't have the perfect set of equipment will build a formidable army as long as she has something on.

Overall, Kemba is a very reactive deck. It has a lot of answers to questions that you don't know yet. There are ways to give Kemba hexproof, shroud, indestructible, unblockable, lifelink, protection from different colors, etc., and you will have multiple ways of fetching whatever equipment you need at that moment. In the next section, I'll outline which pieces of equipment I think are best overall, as well as note which pieces you should prioritize against different types of opponents.

(under construction, but for now: imagine Kemba somehow holding all 7 of her swords and how rad that would be. That's the tl;dr of how to play this deck. Make Kemba look as rad as possible).
