Yuriko - Everybody Was Kung-Fu Fighting

Commander / EDH UB (Dimir)

Maybeboard

The goal of the deck is to turn everything into Ninja's and swing out with Yuriko to flip high CMC cards and do damage.

The first step is getting the evasive creatures onto the battlefield, almost all of the creatures in the deck will be able to hit someone at the table. The types of evasion include: "can't be blocked" Triton Shorestalker, Fear Inkfathom Witch, Shadow Looter il-Kor and Flying Cloud of Faeries.

Step two is to get your commander Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow onto the battlefield. This should be relatively easy because all of our creatures have evasive abilities. Yuriko is very threatening so you want to have some defense or counter plays ready in case you get targeted.

Step three is to begin playing Everybody Was Kung-Fu Fighting (in your head) and tutor/play one of these: Arcane Adaptation, Conspiracy, Unnatural Selection, or Xenograft. Name Ninja as the creature type and start to swing out with your ninja army. Everything that hits will trigger Yuriko's draw/damage ability. Bonus points if you can manipulate the top of the deck to guarantee big flips, check out Ponder, Halimar Depths, Lim-Dul's Vault and Brainstorm.

Alternatively, you can win by playing Doomsday, grabbing 4 high CMC cards and Laboratory Maniac. If everyone doesn't die to the high CMC flips from your Ninja's; then play Lab Man and hopefully you can follow up with a card draw, otherwise buckle up and hope for the best.

Cool synergies and things to note:

Most of the creatures in the deck, including Yuriko, have 1 power. So Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive will provide a lot of additional evasiveness (including herself).

You can use Cavern Harpy to return Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow to your hand. Next turn attack with the Harpy and Ninjitsu Yuriko back out, creating a cycle for 2 mana every turn.

Silumgar Sorcerer can either flash in and exploit itself, or Yuriko to counter a creature spell. Exploiting Yuriko primes her for another Ninjitsu activation down the road. Abjure can also be used the same way.

Split cards count both halves for CMC value of Yuriko's flips; for example Consign / Oblivion counts as 7 CMC.
