Maybeboard

This is a deck about a fox picking up and throwing a hammer over and over.

It's my take on a Zirda Sunforger deck. By the way, I'm very surprised that Sunforger isn't a hub on tapped out. This deck is very focused on tutoring up Sunforger and equipping it for cheap using Zirda's cost reduction ability, and using a selection of instants in the deck as a toolbox to respond to any situation I might find myself in. There are many ways to defend Zirda and my other permanents in this deck such as Lapse of Certainty, as well as plenty of removal for any kind of permanent. I think the real stars in this deck are the really specific answers that you wouldn't normally see in other decks, like Patrician's Scorn and Wild Ricochet. These cards aren't usually useful, but Sunforger can bring them out when it's the perfect moment for them. One of my favorite cards in this deck is Hidetsugu's Second Rite, which can be set up with Violent Eruption fairly easily once an opponent gets low enough. Having all of these cards that are only good in highly specific situations comes at a cost though, since you could just draw them when you don't want to. For this reason I have plenty of ways to throw these cards away such as Merchant of the Vale and Oread of Mountain's Blaze. There are even effects like this that Sunforger can bring out such as Fateful Showdown and Heartwarming Redemption.

Now, since I'm casting and discarding these instants all the time, I'll end up with a lot of cards in my graveyard that I'd rather have in my library. Because of this there are a few cards that move stuff from the graveyard back to the library, like Elixir of Immortality and Cranial Archive. Reito Lantern is an especially effective example of these because it sticks around on the battlefield and can be activated for only one mana thanks to Zirda.

Although there are a few ways to win with Sunforger alone, I don't expect it to be the usual win condition for the deck. I've included many ways to fill up the board with tokens like Blaring Recruiter, Mobilization, and Sacred Mesa. Thanks to Zirda, these tokens can be generated very efficiently and boosted using Inner-Flame Igniter and Tears of Rage. Sun-Collared Raptor and Captivating Crew are some other options for winning the game all on their own with the help of Zirda.

I decided it would be easier if I just didn't include ways to instantly win the game with infinite damage, and so I didn't see any point in including Basalt Monolith in the deck even though it's best friends with Zirda. I might go back on that decision since infinite mana is just so enticing.

This deck has never been playtested. As always I am very open to suggestions. Thanks for reading!
