Control the game, flood the board with Zombies- win the game. Extract the biggest threats from your opponents library... (The Scarab God) is a primary win condition. This deck is full of combos and synergies featuring cards like Waste Not & Brain in a Jar . At the moment, I am having issues balancing the deck with what I want and what I need. Any help or input is greatly appreciated. We will break down this deck and explain what works and what doesn't in the following sections.

: While Anticipate is still the best option for finding what you need, cards like Pieces of the Puzzle still get the job done, and help fill up your graveyard. We are playing a more "controlling" build, so being able to snag a couple of Instants or Sorceries at the same time is fantastic. However, we are playing other important cards- such as Waste Not, so being limited to those card types may not be the best option. A play set of Strategic Planning will take this spot. It is one mana cheaper, and we can grab any card we need...while working toward delirium activation at the same time. Still, don't forget about cards like Dig Through Time and Dark Petition. They are absolute bombshells in this format, and fantastic in the late game, allowing us to find our finishers. We will get into those cards in a little bit.

Efficiency is key in control decks...the more we can pack into one card, the more probable they will see play. Supreme Will & Doomfall are great examples of efficiency. Thank you Hour of Devastation. One card in particular is a no-brainer in this deck...Collective Brutality is SUCH a flexible card here. We can get cards into our graveyard, make our opponent discard, gain some life, and potentially destroy a creature. We are not, however, using an entire play set here- but you could. We will leave some in the sideboard, as this deck is still in prototype stages. More may be main-boarded in the future.

Rakshasa's Secret also works in this deck- not the best card in any given scenario, a little costy as there are LOTS of important 3-drops here. But, it will let you combo off with Waste Not and fill up your graveyard. I wouldn't recommend more than one however. Besides those, the Cycle Lands we have received from Amonkhet is an easy way to get that 4th card type in your graveyard. Fetid Pools fits the bill, and a set will find it's home in this build.

: So, as we mentioned above- Dark Petition is awesome. I challenge you to deny it. By the time it see's your hand, you will more than likely have at least 2 spells in your graveyard (If not, you are clearly having some issues). This is such an underrated card. You mean I can play Demonic Tutor? Yes, yes you can. Diabolic Tutor can go in your bike spokes. Sure, it can't be played on turn two (unlike Legacy Control, where you have access to Dark Ritual), it will help you find what you need in the late game. The Scarab God & Yahenni's Expertise are a couple of good fetches.

Sign in Blood will be the best option for card draw, until something better comes along- which I don't see happening. If this were a 3-color deck...I would lean away from the double black a little more, but we're safe with Dimir. This card see's black in almost every format, especially in Mono-Black Devotion- which makes for an absolutely brutal Legacy build. Another great choice here is Read the Bones. It is slightly more expensive than the latter, but helps us out more- giving us the ability to sift through 4 cards instead of two. So, Dig Through Time, as fore-mentioned, is great in any blue deck and home only to those in this format. It is always an option. The Delve mechanic is great, and there are a lot of great cards that let you pull it off. Most of the time, dead cards are just that sitting in the graveyard... The draw back is that we need them for Delirium. We have too many cards that rely on it. However, for closing out the game we can make that sacrifice (or if we can anyways). Empty the Pits is in the sideboard for this very reason- as a finisher, and it fit's the tribal theme.
: This is obviously a control variant, and every spell in the 75 serve a purpose. In this format, we have access to many powerful options to control the board as we deem fit- especially since the release of the newest few sets. Duress is and will always be a great card that see's play in basically every format. While it certainly is not Thoughtseize or Inquisition of Kozilek, it is in fact one of the best hand disrupters we can play. Transgress the Mind & Lay Bare the Heart are also great options with different benefits...the same is true with Despise & Harsh Scrutiny. These cards will allow us create Zombie tokens with the help of Waste Not, while getting rid of a potential threat, either short or long term.

: Pick the Brain vs. Lost Legacy- Personally, the only advantage Pick the Brain gives us over the latter is looking at our opponents hand. However, the current meta can be predictable, and you should be able to choose a proper target for Legacy. On the flipsde, if it is unpredictable, Pick the Brain is still very good, and gives you the same options as Lost Legacy, with the upside of being allowed to choose an Artifact and not be limited.
