Zuran Consultation

Commander / EDH WUB (Esper)

Nakhla

NOTE: THIS DECK IS BEING UPDATED DUE TO THE RELEASE OF JACE, WIELDER OF MYSTERIES. JTMS IS THE PLACEHOLDER.

My current iteration of Midrange Zur, just passing out of the experimental phase and towards a point I feel it might be a legitimate, viable deck at competitive tables.

What Makes This Different From DD Zur and Shimmer Zur?

A much larger suite of interaction; toolboxy plays with strong, mostly one-sided hate permanents; slightly slower clock overall focused on winning mid-game rather than ASAP. This deck cuts Doomsday and the Gush-Tide package in favor of the more slot-efficient routes to victory of Tainted Pact/Demonic Consultation.

What Makes This Different From Stax & Control Zur?

Generally speaking, most of the slower variants want to be able to land an Arcane Laboratory into fast pods, effectively shutting off any win conditions that needs to cast more than one spell a turn (and routes to getting there quickly, like Angel's Grace with Ad Nauseam). While there are good justifications for running this kind of hate package, it makes for a much slower deck that has a slightly harder time killing three opponents in one turn.
