Just Some Combos I Make use of

  • Copy Enchantment + Greater Auramancy offers of course as any neophyte player would see, the finest in enchantment shrouding capabilities. Plus Copy Enchantment offers the ability for me to say "Hey Fred, my opponent, that's a mighty fine enchantment you have on that thar playing field, I wants it too!"

  • Copy Artifact + Isochron Scepter assuming I am playing this right which I think I am allows me to have a tutor on one scepter and a counter spell on another as well as the ability to Copy Artifact any of the mana rocks I might want to copy should the need arise. With the added bonus of perhaps stealing a copy of someone else's artifact should I need it. Lightning Greaves or Swiftfoot Boots should I not have drawn mine.

  • Necropotence + Solitary Confinement , this is of course the obligatory combo which I probably needn't mention but I have, no sense in backspacing now.

  • Liliana Vess + Necropotence allows me to use Liliana's -2 ability to fish up a card and with necropotence set it aside, Liliana nearly got the axe until during a game with her and necropotence out I was hit with the heavy hammer of "You're an idiot" which allowed me to put two and two together.

Game Plan

  • Get Zur out as quick as I can (preferably with boots of some sort on the field already.)

  • Should I not have shroud/hexproof on him, get him Diplomatic Immunity and if I do, Vanishing

  • Next be Daybreak Coronet

  • Anything after this is just a play by ear, if I suspect I need protection from attacking creatures first (those hideous token decks) I will bring out Propaganda and/or Ghostly Prison or for quick removal some exiling enchantments such as Detention Sphere or Oblivion Ring, but if I need none of that I will just build up Zur.

In Closing

If there are any suggestions for improvements, feel free to drop a note in,I'm usually all ears. One of my goals with this deck was to keep cmc to a minimum so anything over 5 cmc (barring enchantments, those I keep at a strict 3 or less) is pretty unlikely I'd add it.

Much thanks to outofnothing0 for his Zur's Perfection which I as anyone can clearly see used as a launch pad to complete my deck.

Updates Add

Removed a couple cards to fit in other cards.

Found a copy of Banishing Light in one of my 9 boxes of cards (need to put them in order....) and put it in the deck. Gives me another O-Ring effect which I find more effective than Condemn as I usually don't bother dropping creatures on the bottom of my opponents libraries.

While out at my local card shop I saw a Scroll Rack on the wall, it is amazing in my Sharuum deck so I thought I would add a copy to Zur and his Magic Bag of Tricks to allow me to cycle unwanted auras in my hand back to my deck before attacking to tutor them out, this has been an area of slight annoyance from time to time after Zur's been hit up with shroud.
