Navigating the Site: Front Page
On the front page of TappedOut.net you’ll first see a featured deck.
Beneath that, you’ll see lists of decks.
These lists are:
- Latest: decks that have most recently been cycled
- Top: decks with the most upvotes in a 10-day range
- Featured: decks users have paid feature tokens to highlight
- Help!: decks that have been flagged by the user as needing feedback
- First cycle: see someone who has cycled for the very first time
- Friends: once you’ve added friends on TappedOut, this section will have decks recently cycled by your friends
Beneath the decklists, you’ll find Recent Forum Activity. The Recent Forum Activity is customizable to whatever forums you’re subscribed to.
You’ll also find a section with the recent articles published to the site. Community Discussions are discussions featured by TappedOut, while the Comment Activity section will feature the latest discussions on the site.
The Header Bar
The header bar contains several links and features to help you navigate TappedOut.
Deck Builder
The deck builder page is a multifunctional directory for one of the site's predominant features: the deck builder (bet that was a surprise). It displays the latest decks, as well as top decks across many of the site's different hubs and formats. The Deck Builder page provides a search feature to browse all decks. It also contains the link to the deck creation page, which allows you to add your own MTG decks to the site.
Cards
The cards page is a directory for all printings of all MTG cards. Users in workstation mode can browse set lists and add cards to their decks from this section. The card directory also has an area for user-created cards.
Events
The events page is a directory that lists various user-added venues and upcoming events.
Draft Sim
The draft simulator allows users to host, join, and spectate online drafts from host-selected sets or cubes against other users or bots. It's a great way to practice for limited events or pass the time.
Forums
The forums page is a directory for all general discussions on TappedOut. The page itself does not have thread listings, but the various subforums all provide ways to discuss aspects of the game with others. The first subgroup of forums is MTG Format discussions. Within the section are forums related to: Oathbreaker, Commander (EDH), Standard, Modern, Pioneer, Modern, Legacy, Pauper, Limited, and a forum for Deck Help.
The Deck Help subforum is for threads asking for help with a specific deck. Users should post about what aspects of their decks they want help with and any limitations (budget, format, etc.) they're working with. There are also dedicated Deck Help forums covering Commander (EDH), Standard, Modern, Pioneer, and Legacy.
The next subgroup of forums is centered around Game Discussions. Forums relating to MTG Economics, Lore, Spoilers, Rumors, and Speculation, The Kitchen Table, Online Magic, The Trading Post, Custom Cards, and Gear can all be found in this subgroup.
Site Discussions is the final subgroup of form. Site Discussions have forums related to General, TappedOut, (the official discussion area for site-related concerns, suggestions, and announcements), Coding, Site Updates, Challenges and Articles (got an idea for a deckbuilding contest or want to contribute some writing to the site? This is the forum for you to do so), and The Blind Eternities (for conversations on everything else).
MTG Q&A
The Q & A page is for asking and answering any questions related to game rules. These can be questions pertaining to card interactions, the rules text for a card, or even what happens when somebody makes a certain mistake at an event. Non-rules questions should be asked in the appropriate forum (see above).
Community
The community tab features the top 20 Decklords and 20 of the Top Helpers. Decklords are the most active users on the site. Top Helpers give the most assistance on decks and make good suggestions for cards to add to decks. If you become a Decklord, you can change the title under your username via your profile pages.
Search (Magnifying Glass Icon)
The search function allows you to do quick, site-wide queries for users, decks, cards, and comments. The drop-down that appears when you click on the icon also contains links to the advanced search pages for cards and decks.
Inventory (Folder Icon)
The inventory function allows you to have quick access to your trade binder, decks, lists, cubes, and friends. Whenever you add or subtract elements from these categories, your inventory will automatically update with the appropriate changes. Clicking the inventory icon opens a centerscreen menu.
Notifications (Comment Icon)
The notifications function tells you when another user comments on something you are subscribed to (such as a deck or thread) and can be used to stay on top of replies to your decks or feedback. Your subscriptions can be managed in your settings. Clicking the notifications icon opens a center screen menu. When you have new notifications, the icon will have a red circle in the top right corner. When there have been no new notifications since you last opened the menu, it will be white.
User Menu (Silhouette Icon)
The user menu displays quick links to your user page, settings, deck feature information, and the extras page. It also has a quick logout feature.
