No good picks. Narrow Escape and Reckless Scholar are the best picks for actually using in our deck. Other than that, Mold Shambler seems like the best candidate for hate-drafting. Not sure what to go with here. I'll say Mold Shambler .

Reckless Scholar .

He just gets us the cards we need, and he can beat if we need him to.

wow. sucky pack. i agree. hate drafting seems like the choice here since no of our colors will work for us; i would either hate draft Turntimber Basilisk or Mold Shambler . but since we have some fliers, mold shambler seems like the best choice. Mold Shambler it is.

also, it seems to me that green looks fairly open. i doubt anyone will be playing it seriously, if even splashed. but i guess we'll see.

we can totally pull off Shoal Serpent - we've got the Living Tsunami ! ha ha.

Actually, Turntimber Basilisk is the one I'd hate to see across the board - Mold Shambler is pretty expensive at 6 mana. Reckless Scholar could help us out... card advantage is always good.

Hmm. This isn't a great group of cards, that's what makes this tricky. Let's look at hate drafting the Mold Shambler . We might lose a land, a Journey to Nowhere , Ior Ruin Expedition , Zektar Shrine Expedition , Nimbus Wings , goblin-warpaint... or a Basilisk Collar , or Kitesail . That WOULD suck. If we can put ourselves in a position where the green player doesn't get to Naturalize , AND we get the right picks to support it, things could get annoying pretty quick for them... but what's worse, losing non-creatures, or losing creatures?

Here's what I'm thinking: green never gets creature removal. They get things like Turntimber Basilisk . Green DOES get plenty of Naturalize -type effects. If we're going to hate draft something, which one will have more impact on our green opponent? I'm thinking the former.

So I'm still tempted to give Shoal Serpent a try... it IS a 5/5, and even as a blocker it'll chew up most creatures in the absence of combat tricks. If I were drafting for myself, I'd probably grab it, but since we're voting, I'm going to vote for Turntimber Basilisk .

quite honestly I'd pick the reckless scholar. Yeah, we'll probably end up benching it but it is a playable and will give us flexibility as we move forward. Are we really hate drafting a Mold Shambler considering how open green is most drafts? If they want to play a Mold Shambler I'm reasonably happy with that. If we're hating I'd hate the savage silhouette, card is GOOD people, and if you're opponent is smart it makes the creature unkillable.

At any rate. Hate drafting does poorly, especially pack 1, and hating a resounding MOLD SHAMBLER.

yeah but then again we've got the problem of the Turntimber having provoke on landfall..... so i think its probably the better to hate that rather than Mold Shambler who will mostly be kept in hand due to the fact

A- They are waiting for something decent to target. B- They dont have the mana to cast it Kicked.

So yeah im all for either the Reckless Scholar or hating the Turntimber Basilisk .

And the reason we wont go the shoal serpent is the fact that its a 5/5 for 6 which is rather un-impressive.

So i'm more for taking something that could be useful. So Reckless Scholar It is.

@l0ki - ahhh which means they're tapped when it uses its 'block if able' ability. fair point. still, I think the turntimber is the one to hate on. they won't all be flying... and occasionally we want it to be safe to block.

Reckless Scholar he is a draw mechanic, wich is great in limited. like i said last post you only hate draft if there is nothing left in the pack for your deck or sideboard.

I'll vote for the Reckless Scholar .

But I will say this; that Turntimber Basilisk will hurt if our green opponent cracks that Harrow we passed on earlier.
