The case can be made for Memnite , Salvage Scout , or card:Accorder's Shield.

But picking up an Iron Myr in our best off color with a Tempered Steel on pick 7 is too good to pass. It goes a long way to letting us also splash black.

What are you wanting to splash black for right now? Memoricide is not great in draft unless they have multiple bombs, the scudder is fine, but Dross Hopper , Psychic Miasma and Painful Quandary ?? Cmon, staying pure W/R arti-aggro is going to be much more consistant.

If you're arguing for picking a card to go with the Tempered Steel , Memnite is definitely the correct decision over the mana myr, coming out a turn earlier and not tying up any mana reserves. However, basing all our pick choices on one card out of 40 isn't how we should be thinking.

Side note: if we weren't rare drafting here, I'd grab Memnite , since he's selling for more than most of the rares in SOM right now...

The splash for black, is not for the crittes, except Necrogen Scudder . But imo it is more for the ability to refule our Trigon of Corruption if needed, also atm im not sure we need to splach it, but it was nice to have the colour open at the 3 booster.

We can run a swamp or two to do that since we already have the Leaden Myr . But to be honest, I don't think diluting our mana base for the scudder or the trigons is worth it. Especially since we have the Glimmerpoint Stag to fully reload.
