Hate the Untamed Might . We're probably weakest against infect, and Untamed Might ends games for infect decks.

Also, if you look at our deck right now, it's very close to set. Even if we dont pick up something good with the rest of the picks we have 26-27 cards that would go in ahead of Horizon Spellbomb . Unless we think it could substitute for a land then I say we go the hate route.

I dunno, exarkun809... I think the way to beat infect is with firststrike, and we've got that. We've got two Sunspear Shikari already and a third may table from an earlier pack. Infect critters also tend to have very low toughness and we've got several ping cards we can use to remove them.
I agree that Untamed Might is a great card for them, but I don't fear the matchup.
I kinda like Ferrovore in this pack. It's not a bad use for spent Trigons and it works well with the two Perilous Myr we picked up.

I'm with SupremeAlliesCommander here. Ferrovore is great for our deck and I think we should pick it up for the exact same reasons s/he stated. When our Trigon's are done they're just going to sit there and with the 'vore we can turn dead Trigon's into Trigon of Rage for the Ferrovore , (giving him +3/+0 until EOT). Also a good way to get the Perilous Myr to the graveyard. I vote Ferrovore
On another note, I made a copy of our deck and removed all of the black cards and we are still at 27 cards and it looks like we might have some tough decisions later with cuts. Just something to think about.

I love ferrovore. Opponents hate that card on the board. And where are all the people whining for beef? This guy swings for five (or why not eight?) on turn four after sacing a perilous myr!

Ferrovore though I still have doubts about maindecking it.

Ha. I didn't even see Ferrovore there on the bottom. Let's go with him.

He's probably closer than the spellbomb to making the final decklist, although sacking Perilous Myr to him is only something that should be done as a finisher, or as a last resort. It's a better use of him to draw removal, prevent attacks, or sneak damage through - he's one of my favorite cards in SOM because of how his flexibility makes your opponent squirm, even when they have larger creatures.
So yeah, Ferrovore , after that little sidetrack.

Ferrovore. It's a decent card in artifact-heavy decks, especially if we use up the trigons, or just need some quick extra damage.

2 things make sense here
Corrupted Harvester cuz he is big and we don't have anything that is big atm. And he regens so his smaller toughness isn't an issue.
The other is
Horizon Spellbomb this is huge for us to be able to splash colors. I figure i will never get people to vote for the harvester... cuz atm we seem to be bomb averse.... so lets at least take the mana fixing artifact so our spalshable colors make sense... especialy if we are splashing 2 colors... spellbomb gets my vote.

I agree with DeckBuilder345 about the lack of a fatty. However, I'm getting the impression that we're not going to splash anything other than red. If we do add black to the menagerie, I dunno that we want cards with double black in the casting cost.
I'm still thinking we can build fatties using pump cards - preferably equipment - but we haven't seen a whole lot of that.

Corrupted Harvester is a poor card in our deck. It's poor card in all but a fairly small casting of decks, in fact. He's really not good for us, between his double-black cost and the fact that we aren't a sac deck.
I agree that Ferrovore is the right choice. He's a acceptably-costed body on his own that we can, say, sac a spellbomb to him to pump him and draw a card.

ferrovore, unless we're serious about playing three colors -- if we really want to splash black along with the red white (and make no mistake that red is our best second color), there's an argument to be made for the spellbomb as mana fixing. otherwise, ferrovore.
since I love red white artifact in this set, I vote Ferrovore .

I don't know why you wouldn't consider us to have sac effects in our deck? How is it that you think the Perilous Myr functions to do its damage? When it enters the grave yard. This is a perfectly legit combo that we could use to finish off a game. I think that the harvester might be bad in a constructed deck, but i think you undersell it here. Plus we can easily sac one of our lowly 1/1's to help keep him out. As beef goes in this format he is actually pretty good.
As to the argument about black... Necrogen Scudder fits excellently with our deck, fast flying evasion and a prime target for our equipment. The Painful Quandary is another perfect fit for our deck, as it deals 5 damage or slows them way down, just as they would start brining bombs online... which is good b/c our deck is filled w/ a bunch of weenies. the [trigon of corruption]]'s get better with black, and the Memoricide gets rid of their bombs. Who wouldn't love to get rid of all of an opponents Shatter or Turn to Slag ? Either of which could be devastating for our deck? Plus on the first matchup it allows our pilot to see exactly what the other side is playing, and you are fooling yourself if you think that provides no benefit.

We can use the trigons without splashing anything. If anything we can splash black to run a memoricide, but really, that list of black cards doesn't justify going gung-ho for black when we have two picks in this pack that are much better for our deck. Granted, we don't have a monster, but we don't need one to win. We can win with early aggro and late game removal and solid, albeit smaller, creatures.
Enter the ferrovore. He isn't a fragile artifact creature. We can sneak in big chunks of damage, hang back and block fatties, and sac our perilous myrs on our terms.
That is a solid pick for our deck.
