I'll raise you one (lower?) and present my 2cc deck, the Humble Hoard. Also Suppression Orb (Contest Version), which is a rather fun control deck.

Oh, and ignore the Humble Hoard's sideboard. Well, mostly; Gaddock Teeg is of course useless in this competition, but the other stuff is still valid.

@socialist- See last sentence of article. I'll leave it to Jarrod to provide judging criteria, but the normal three (theme adhesion, creativity, effectiveness) are always a good bet to try and satisfy.

I would imagine so, but he wouldn't let you play a CMC4 creature card and count it as a 3 CMC creature. He'd just lower the casting cost of artifacts that already have CMC3 or under.

Okay. Here is how I will judge it.

I will be testing how well these decks work against 2 of my own decks. If a deck can go 2-0 against both my decks, that's worth 10 points.

I am also looking for creativeness. Maybe trying new combos or adding newer cards to pre-existing decks to make them better. If a deck is completely original, that will be awarded highly too; another 10 points.

Finally, if all cards are sticking to the theme of 3 or less mana, while still being ridiculously good you will be awarded 5 additional points. I like looking for ways to wipe the field, or win the game for minimal mana.

This means there are 25 points in total. I will be surprised if anybody can get more than 20. I am a tough judge

To me this challenge seems like ti was set for Kasey, it just screams counter spells.

@SirNips- The problem with this challenge in terms of counterspell-friendliness is that counterspells do not like dealing with decks that have lots of cheap spells. The ol' Raging Goblin problem.

@MDragon - 2 decks actually, and a counterspell/burn that has come cards that cost 4 and 5. The decks that really shine can outlast both low cost and high cost decks.

@mlakics - No, because you will technically need to cast it... And therefore it cannot be played without paying more than 3cmc. I dunno, I just wouldn't allow it. Apart from the fact Research/Development has one option costing more than 3, i would disallow it anyway for the same reason.
