Trigon of Mending Is the obvious choice. It gains more life than card:Golem's Heart while fulfilling the same role as a step toward metalcraft. relic-putescence only contends as hate.

Hmmm... don't really like any of our choices.... Trigon of Mending or Relic Putrescence . I guess the trigon but i can't get excited about either pick.

Trigon of Mending it is not the best Trigon, but it is ok, I have seen many long matches with the trigon as a life-safer

golem's heart is slightly better than the trigon of mending -- no one is actually going to waste mana to re-fill that particular trigon, and it can really annoy an opponent running a metalcraft deck.

Trigon of Mending is the only remotely useful item. Relic Putrescence is possible in a poison deck, but even then it's extremely weak.

My vote is Relic Putrescence . While bad, I'd rather see someone spend a turn dropping the heart or the trigon.

Hopefully we won't be mainboarding any of these. I vote Triggon.

It's unlikely we'll see any of it, honestly. Even in an infect deck, unless they're really wanting for poison sources, Putrescence probably won't maindeck.

Taking cards from opponent decks only really works as a strategy when you're looking at cards that have a good chance of fielding against you or at least being sideboarded in against you. Otherwise you may as well take the basic land.

it's not bad as a sideboard Vs. some nasty artifact deck and I dont see any of the others even making it to the sideboard.
