Players with infect decks hate first strike.

Sunspear Shikari though Auriok Replica isn't half bad either.

Auriok Replica because if you continue to stay white then you will have more creatures with metalcraft.

Most of the time the Shikari is a 2/2 bear, so I say we go Copper Myr .
Even if we don't pick green, (which would be an excellent second colour) then the mana myr turns on metal craft, accelerates our mana (even if it is just as colourless) and is a body on the field. As I understand this format, you can't have too many mana myr.

Sunspear Shikari, I believe is actually the right pick. I agree that it will be a bear 60% of the time, but that other 40%, it will be extremely relevant, and sends a clear signal to the guy to our left. I think if we stick to white for now, we'll get paid in pack 2, for sure.
Also, it's a half decent body in a set where there's not an overwhelming amount of fat.

Turn 1: Darksteel Axe . Turn 2: Sunspear Shikari . Turn 3: Equip. Turn 4: 4/2 First Strike Lifelink.
I'm ok with how that looks.

This is all about mana acceleration and getting artifacts onto the field. We would be crazy not to pick up the Copper Myr at this point. Heck i am even surprised that we have a myr available at this point int he draft.... I say we take the myr, improve our mana ramp and move on.
2/2 bears are ok but really not that great... .mana ramp is important.

Copper Myr is the only answer. If you want Metalcraft to work you need AT LEAST 12-13 artifacts in your deck. Another Shikari might probably wheel in pack 2 since we sucked all the white goodies. A myr? I don't think.
I want to note that we had at least one VERY good card for poison in every pack we saw so far: probably poison was the way to go :(

Why do we think the Sunspear Shikari will be a bear most of the time? I drafted three and had no difficulty keeping them equipped.

To have a serious chance to see MTG Card: Sunspear Shikari at his best you need 4-5 equips in your deck. To achieve that you either use the trash shield or you pick mid equipments over serious creatures. In either case you lose.

Untamed Might . Call it the green fireball. absolutely worth splashing for.

idk i think it might be wise not too discount the Thrummingbird it is a 1/1 which i know might not be that great but there isnt a huge amount in the air in this set and it will make anything we pick up that dishes out -1/-1 counters much better.

Actually, I went undefeated using the Sunspear and some mediocre equipment. But I do get your point. There's plenty of equipment in this set, but the good stuff is rare or mythic.
I'll flip-flop and vote with the Myr party.

Bah. Making me log in to vote. You guys usually go the right way.
The Skikari is the correct pick. It locks that color to our right, hopefully. The myr is alright, but we want aggression; attacking for 2 is what wins a lot of draft games.

Let's stay white and take Sunspear Shikari 2/2 for 2 mana with possible lifelink firststrike sound good.
