Arrest ploxty.

Arrest and NOT because I feel committed to white after one card. In most cases its actually better than Grasp of Darkness and it works better in a multicolored deck.

Arrest is my choice. it is good removal (well ok lockdown) and it sends a strong signal that we are drafting white, hopefully cutting off the person to our left from going white.

Grasp of Darkness or Painsmith . I think painsmith can be a great card in this set.

Also, let's keep an eye on how many infect cards come around it'll be useful to know if anyone might have the tools to actually build the deck -- ichorclaw myr is a good start.

Grasp of Darkness or Painsmith . Grasp is the best removal in this set, there are so many small creatures. Arrest is more expensive and its an enchantment in a set with Slice in Twain and Sylvok Replica not a very good card against big green creatures.

Arrest . Both it and Grasp of Darkness have upsides and down, but grasp demands a commitment to black and arrest can be splashed if needs be.

Arrest

Tellin' ya'll. White.

I'm curious what the first pick was from this... No good rare and pass 2 great removals?!

Ok, guys...would you rather arrest something than give it -4/-4? for BB? Anyways, do you wanna see that being used against us? Really, the pick here is not arrest, and just because we picked up one white card (first pick!) doesn't at all mean we should keep picking white. Let's be smart.

eh. it's 6 of one, half-a-dozen of the other.

one removes indestructible critters from the board, but doesn't seal the deal against game-winning fatties, and requires a black commitment.

The other one shuts anything down completely, but is vulnerable to green / white enchantment hate (such as Revoke Existence in this set) or bounce effects, doesn't turn off metalcraft, and costs more. But it's splashable.

Honestly, I only went Grasp of Darkness 'cause I'm bored to crud with white decks, and if we do take a second white card, we'll start trending that way regardless.

let's just pick one and move on -- it looks like the votes are trending Arrest , which I think is wrong, but whatever -- KC can just flip a coin, and lets move on.

also: oh man, Tel-Jilad Fallen is in this pack. maybe we should go infect. immunity from tumble magnet and myr chump blockers is pretty nice.

@exarkun809

I was actually curious about that myself. I asked Sectoid what he TOOK and he said "A dude."

@landot

I get your thinking, but there's a reason you're seeing so many white decks. They're good. And, after all, 'you play to win the game!'

@KrazyCaley

Hmmm... Sporklife probably right. We'll see I guess.

@exarkun809 I hear that, and I understand. Just a little . . . less than optimal for those of us who are more Timmy / Johnny than we are Spike.

In this set, I think white artifact or red artifact are the easiest decks to draft and win with -- and since there isn't any red in this pack (and seeing that, I can't help but wonder if Sectoid first-picked a Goblin Gaveleer?), we might as well go with Arrest . White is both deeper and more splashable than black in this set.
