Lots of great cards this time around as usual. So now it is time to vote for your favorites.
Voting Rules
- Each player should vote for their favorite card of each category (blue and blue/black) below. You may vote for cards by users or design team members
- Each player should provide feedback on the cards they vote for like possible changes.
- Each player may provide feedback on any of the other cards that are presented as well. Just be clear on what cards your are voting for and which you are simply commenting on.
- Design team members will not be voting, so if you do not like their designs and you all vote for something else, we will not win.
Other handy hints and things to remember
In this set there is no hybrid mana. Below is an article that shows all cards designed for Ulgris and an explanation of the shard for reference.

Peat Bog Komodo by ilikeoldcardsbetter
Design team Comments and suggestions: The entire group agreed that we liked this, but that we liked it much more at 5/4. |
|
Barracuda Ambush by Yourman
Design team Comments and suggestions: Liked the idea overall. It need some tweaking, not sure how, maybe as low as 4 tokens of 5. Will need to tinker. |
|
Colossal Octopus by Yourman
Design team Comments and suggestions: Great as is. A nice frech vanilla design, something we are lacking in a bit. |
|
Vile Monitor by Lectrys
Design team Comments and suggestions: Another solid frech vanilla. |
|
Thoughtrending by platinum_demon
Design team Comments and suggestions: This card is nice. It could be a rare though, not sure about it, but we like it nonetheless. |
Design team Comments and suggestions: A vanilla creature is needed and I think this fits the bill nicely. |

Sacrificial Growth by heinm1989
Design team Comments and suggestions: Liked this card as is. |
|
Haemothallid by Jarrod_0067
Design team Comments and suggestions: One design member did not see the purpose of this card. In other words what design space did it really fill, but we liked it overall anyway. |
|
Hungry Predator by IronHead
Design team Comments and suggestions: Entire design team liked this as a 2/1 instead. |
|
Creeping Ichor by Halidir_Orveck
Design team Comments and suggestions: We likey. |
|
Spectral Trellis by funkalunk
Design team Comments and suggestions: We like this card, but rather than giving it the ability to block stuff that is unblockable (which makes no sense), we would rather have it be able to remove unblockable from a creature or all creatures. It makes more sense from a flavor standpoint. |
Design team Comments and suggestions: Another frech vanilla champ from the garruk's champion playbook. |
All votes must be submitted in the comments below by midnight EST on Wednesday, January 4th, 2011.
I like Barracuda Ambush. Maybe the tokens could be trimmed down, or they could be removed from the game at end of combat.
Spectral Trellis would be cool with the rewording.

For BUG I vote Vile Monitor.
For GB I'm going to vote for a hungry predator with the suggested changes. I also really like spectrail Trellis but I think it would fit better flavor wise in our WGB shard.

For BUG, I prefer the Collosal Octopus, but maybe change the Mana cost to 2BUG and give it defender.
For BG, I'm going with Creeping Ichor, like it is.

For BUG I like Colossal Octopus but I think maybe I'd feel more comfortable with it at 5CMC.
For BG I like Creeping Ichor, but I would word it like this: "BG, T: Put a -1/-1 counter on target creature. If you do, put a +1/+1 counter on Creeping Ichor."

I also really enjoy the Vile Monstrosity from the BUG side of this contest, it's a solid card that I could imagine seeing in the Shards of Alara block that I so loved

Barracuda Ambush is awesome. I think it would be better if it was either a) 4 tokens with lifelink (because barracudas devour the enemy creature) OR b) like Lurghyof said, the tokens are removed from game at the end of combat

Suggestion for Haemothallid, which is my vote:
Feel like this card is interesting, but drastically underpowered. Suggestion: Give it power and toughness in the 6-7 range, but make it start with 3 -1/-1 counters. Leave its primary mechanics alone.

I want to see Creeping Ichor in the next set! that thing is nuts, oh my 0/1 blocks your 2/2 tap now it's a 1/2 and yours is a 1/1.... NOM NOM NOM... next turn do it again to your 3/3...

Colossal octupus
Haemothallid - Caley's suggestion is good. OR, remove counters whenever any creature dies (not just non-token).?

I really like Colossal Octopus as it is, and Hungry Predator if it was a lot smaller.
