Hello and thanks for checking out the Player of the Month. I'm going to start doing this every month as a way for us to show appreciation to members of our community who really shine. There's no formal process for this! There's no voting! The Chart Gods simply look down and pick who they feel best has upheld the values of the site. Of course, this includes remaining incredibly respectful of other people and doing their best to inject breezy coolness into hot situations.
As all of us regular TappedOut members know, this community is awesome. We've been at it for about 3 years and I'm constantly amazed what a great crowd of people we attract. What's more, I'm glad to see new people pop up regularly who really just get it, when it comes to knowing how to make this place awesome.
What's the prize?
$100 gift certificate @ CoolStuff!
WITHOUT FURTHER ADO
mafteechr and zandl split the prize this month! They have been hammering away with squire1 in keeping our card database up-to-the-minute. For this the whole community owes them thanks. But more than that, they're constantly pitching in everywhere around the site, from the Q&A to giving great deck advice. TappedOut wouldn't even be worth visiting if it wasn't for people like this. Thanks a lot!
Damn. That rules!
Thanks a lot! This'll get me that playset of Garruk 2.0 for sure, now. Once the real one is revealed, that is...
Back to Jace vs. Chandra Duel Decks images.

And yet, here on the following deck, a certain winning choice fails to recognise a whole host of cards and their formats, in which a petty string of comments ensue:
I can't say that I would trust the advice of this member. I apologise for spoiling the mood slightly, it's just I'm surprised at the contrast after reading this article.
By the way, congrats mafteechr

I have a saying that helps me a lot and it's simply this:
"These things happen."
It helps get you in perspective I find.
All flippancy aside, has it dropped in price that much for real already? If so ouch...

NVM, ignore the last comment as I'm tired and misread your post.
Nice investment my friend. I had to trade a Sword of feast and famine for my single Gideon.

Apparently you can preorder them on Cool Stuff Inc for $18 a pop.

I'm not even going to acknowledge that you're trying to steal my thunder, weterr123. I may have over-voiced my opinions in that isolated incident, but I would never resort to calling a person a "twat" and then manage to even link to that same discussion in an article where I'm trying to take that same person down.
Let's look at some of your recent posts.
"Are you schizophrenic or just plain retarded?" - weterr123 in deck:the-ultimate-in-battlefield-dominance.
... or ...
"308 views - NO SCORE!! This is what you get for being a twat in your comments. If I could vote this deck down, I would." - weterr123 in Aven Martyrdom.
... or my personal favorite ..
"zandl, you started this by stating something incorrect, then being a twat about it when proved wrong - you need to drop your pride. yeaGO! would not be impressed, perhaps you should give up, if you get what I'm saying..." - weterr123 in DickTouch. (whatever the hell "Give up, if you get what I'm saying" means. lol)
I'm not saying that I'm a saint, by anyone's standards. What I am saying, however, is that your shit stinks, too.
Now, please. Let me get back to actually helping this community become a better place.

can both of you guys just drop it? magic is a game we all joined this site because we enjoy playing magic yeaGO! is trying to make the site a better place by showcasing who he believes is makeing the site better and just because you may or may not agree with who was chosen does not mean you need to bring it up here talk to one of the admins that is what they are there for
if you two are having such a hard time getting along then don't talk to each other that is one of the best parts of the internet who gives a crap if bob from ohio thinks ignore the dude
i am not taking sides on this i am saying just let it go do it for the community

I never had it "up" to be "dropped". I just don't approve of this fellow running around this site, acting like he's recently been admitted to Heaven's Pearly Gates, all the while simply trolling in an article that has nothing to do with him.
That's all I'm getting at. I never once insulted him. I didn't even know he existed until he Flame Jab bed me on a decklist belonging to a person that I got into an argument with, after the argument was done, of which he wasn't even present for.
But when he just tries to come in here and post toxin among cheers of "Congratulations!," trying to "expose" someone he's got it out for, I get ticked-off. Sue me.
Whatever. I'm already over it. My last post was therapeutic, in some ways.
Thanks to all for the congratulations and whatnot. Also, go mafteechr for joining the club and keeping up with card images!

Touche. My turn to say ouch.
zandl, I apologise, I was just surprised at the contrast of what you have been doing round the site (which is good), compared to what I saw on that deck. And yes, I get riled easily and can be snide in comments to prove a point. Since posting the comment here last night, I took a look at your recent activity and saw it was helpful and constructive, so again, I apologise as we can all be wrong/snide at times.
Regarding the first 2 comments of mine you have put here, that was an argument last night due to another member, and to be fair, if you follow the debate, I got increasingly irate with him, and thus my comments got nastier. I am generally nice and constructive round the site, and until the last 48 hours or so (before all this), you will see that my activity here is fair and decent.
I hope you accept my apology zandl, I don't want to be viewed here as a troll. I'm feeling shameful now. Sorry mate.

Apology accepted. I never wanted a flame-war in the first place.

Cool :)
As I said previously, I have checked out your recent activity, and you do deserve the player of the month. Congrats.
See you around the site bud :)

I like how this article commemorates that they have contributed to the positive atmosphere, but they start arguing in the comments.
Please check out and +1 and I will return the favor:
