Harrowing Journey Yes, this pack has two copies of Harrowing Journey.
Plains
We're only in 2 colors, so Wilds is an ok choice, but we're low on big cards and Flowering couldn't hurt especially with a creature heavy deck.
On the other hand, ? He's quite a 2 drop and we're a bit short on those if I remember rightly.

On second checking we actually have quite a few 2 drops. But Grim Flowering isn't something I'm willing to pick over .

I also am leaning towards here. We passed him up last pack, with good reason, but I think we should take another look at him here. 1. He would be annoying to play against, but has great value to our deck if chosen. He serves as an offensive threat early and stays back as a chump blocker after he attacks. When he dies, he comes back on the offensive and makes our opponent waste a chump blocker to get rid of him. He has value on the field thanks to instead of Evolving Wilds.

I think i like what we have so far, i don't know that the cathar is that good of a pick up since it is going to be a bit hard to cast when we want to cast him early. I think i gotta go with the mana fixing, we can easily play 1 red source w/ 2 evolving wilds and have no problems getting to a red mana. I say we go Evolving Wilds. They also smooth out our fixing for our primary colors as well.

Evolving Wilds. Nothing else here is dreadfully important.

I'd probably take the wilds myself . Grim flowering should wheel. If not it won't be disappointing.

5 for Wilds, 3 for Cathar, 1 for Flowering. Will leave it open until I get around to checking tomorrow, at which point I will break any ties.

I hate to be awkward but.. we really do only need to worry about G/W at this point. Red is an afterthought we can do entirely without. For that reason I feel is a solid critter, and anything you have to kill twice is pretty good mileage. I vote Cathar.

I'm gonna go with with running two colors for the most part and we already have a wilds I don't see us having a problem getting the 2 white mana sources by turn 3 at the latest not to mention that we seem to be heavy on white rather than green and thus will most likely have more white in the deck in general. Plus we already have a wilds and I don't think that we're going to need this much mana fixing, just my opinion.

I'd say is dead in our hands if we only have 1 plains. Plus, I think we'll see at least one more Cathar before everything is said and done. Hopefully we'll see another Grim Flowering as well.

I just looked at the current deck list and we have Rally the Peasants, Wild Hunger, and Geistflame, so we're probably going to be splashing red. Having a second Evolving Wilds will help us to get the most use from those cards.

I see your point thebeardedshuffler but I'm probably looking at the deck in a different light.
This deck doesn't have a lot of beef. We need to hit early and put more creatures on the board than our opponents can remove. We need to drop their life total below 10 before they windmill slam Ecto 1 on the table. At the end of the game, we will be forced to attack into bigger bodies with the hope that superior numbers will allow us to get those last few bits of damage through.
is a very good body, but we already have good weenies. From here on out, we're probably not going to see many good weenies in green and I suspect white will start getting thin, as well. However, we keep seeing those little red devils come around. I'm actually hoping we can pick up one or two of those. Along with Geistflame, those work best in the early turns. Evolving Wilds helps with that.
I'm not certain my thinking will produce wins, but that's how I see this deck shaping up.

Seeing the red mana in the flashback costs reminds me how important it is to get that red mana on the table. I change my vote to Evolving Wilds. Who knows, maybe we'll see another cathar...

Evolving Wilds can break your tempo, but with how many red flashback costs we're going to want, I think it's a necessary evil at this point.

I can see that point, and I agree we probably are approaching this pick from different points of view, but I just don't see the deck we build utilising red at all outside of late-game splashing for flashback, or a particularly nice bomb. We're on the last pack and the amount of red we have is tiny. We have more than enough on-colour to make a G/W deck, we'd only be screwing ourselves over by trying to splash red for early spells and leaving cards in hand that we can't possibly use without drawing the right land. Wilds might help mitigate that, but the potential benefit seems to me to be less than the problems brought with splashing red, especially for stuff we'd ideally need early game like is not a required pick for us at this stage. In my opinion the only other viable alternatives are Wild Hunger and Grim Flowering. Since our three main bombs to date are the Kessig Cagebreakers, Thalia, Guardian of Thraben and Elder of Laurels though, we really want to use more creatures than not in order to optimise their potential. More creatures means more wolf tokens for kessig, more +1/+1 tokens for the elder and less expensive plays when Thalia is on the table. The Cathar not only helps us support these cards, but is a pretty good creature in its own right.
I am pretty sure I will be outvoted on this, but I'm enjoying the conversations and debates! It's good to see other people's thought processes.

is really powerful, and it has a ton of value. It gets my vote.

Okay, so I just noticed that we have a . Hmmm...
Personally, I like the 9 non-creature spells we have. They provide us with good win options should we not draw Kessig Cagebreakers. That plus 17 lands, means we have room for 14 creatures in a 40 card deck. We already have 14 creatures, so drafting more creatures could/should improve the quality of our critters, but it will not have an impact on the number we have.
Now, I could be convinced to drop a few other those non-creature spells. Maybe Moment of Heroism... That would make room for more critters. But I'm not fond of dropping our 3 red spells.
Mostly, I think that grabbing the fetchland allows us to keep drafting red if more worthwhile stuff comes our way.

I honestly don't like is a far better fit for our deck. So I'm not totally convinced on all of our selections for creatures and wouldn't mind having another solid 2 drop such as this.
I will concede that evolving wilds is a good pick, but I still would prefer the cathar. I'm loyal to my choice.... sorry I had to.

I'm looking at our list and I'm starting to think that having another human, and especially that one that comes back if we sacrifice it could be awesome. Switch me over to .
February 8, 2012 5:42 p.m.
Definitely . If we expand to 3 colors, Wilds would be nice, but for now we should try to stay in as few colors as possible

Evolving Wilds still holds the edge, and will be the next pick. Moving on.

Evolving Wilds or Grim Flowering
I'm going to go with Evolving Wilds.
