Nope, SOPA protest. Sorry. I know, it's like the new Rickroll.
I have a secret for all of you. You may have noticed today that many of your favorite websites are blacked out or self-censored in protest of the so-called "Stop Online Piracy" and "Protect IP" Acts.
As you might have guessed from the implausible prospect of my having completed all of the things that are in the title of this article, this includes me today. The secret I am sharing with you is that many of the content generators behind your favorite websites, including myself, are quite eager to protest SOPA and PIPA, for TWO reasons. The first is of course because they are incredibly destructive, discourse-suppressing pieces of net-crushing idiocy from either people who know little about the internet and less about we who use it, or people who have a very strong financial interest in being able to suppress any internet content whenever they feel like it.
The second reason, naturally is that we are lazy and do love excuses to delay our content. I AM THE ONLY CONTENT PERSON WITH THE COURAGE TO ADMIT THIS.
In all honesty, let me tell you: I am a lawyer. I know what SOPA and PIPA are about, and what they do. The people who back the bills say that the doomsday scenarios being proffered by the bills' opponents "would never happen" because they wouldn't abuse their power that way. But make no mistake- they'd HAVE the power to do what the worst-case scenario people fear. And that is most definitely not cool, especially here on a site where we rely entirely ON and talk about nothing BUT other people's intellectual property. Granted, usually Hasbro/Wizards is quite cool about fan sites. Still, this thing is bad for all of us and contrary to everything that makes the internet awesome.
If you want to know more about SOPA/PIPA, check stopthewall.us.
Now then.
To avoid laziness, I have decided on the following timetable for resuming content updates now that the new year has begun, so that you all have something to hold over my head to motivate me to actually get things done. BEHOLD:
1 - Daily Dose - Resumes publication by Sunday, Jan. 22.
2 - Daily Draft Debate - Resumes publication by Monday., Jan. 23
3 - Deckbuilders' Challenge - Resumes publication by Monday, February 7
4 - Upgrading the Daily Dose so that it is either a live cast or at least in Youtube form - TBD.
KrazyCaley Enterprises thanks you for your cooperation.

SOPA-rolled. I love it. :P Seriously though, thank you for writing on the topic. I have only a basic understanding of intellectual property law (I'm a composer, so I should learn more :P) so I'm very glad our community on this site has someone who can explain SOPA and PIPA to us. Thanks again!

None as yet. I have actually finished grading the last challenge, but I need data from a broken computer; that is the current holdup.

Well this makes another site that I did not expect to see SOPA being discussed on. Way to go man, people need to know about this and this site allows you to hit another audience.
