As usual, we had a ton of awesome designs to assess! I say this every time, but there were really a lot of good ones here, more than usual. Unfortunately, we had to narrow them down. But before, everyone should get acquainted with out rules of voting:
Voting Rules
- Each player should vote for their favorite cards below. Vote for 2 white cards. You may vote for cards by users or design team members.
- Each player should provide feedback on the cards for which they voted, such as possible changes.
- Each player may provide feedback on any of the other cards that are presented as well. Just be clear on what cards your are voting for and which ones you are simply commenting on.
- Design team members will not be voting, so if you do not like their designs and you all vote for something else, we will not win (which is fine).
To help with your decisions, this link will give you some background about Sorok:

Alright, here we go. Take a look at these card designs and vote for your favorites.
Ceaseless Knight by IronHead
Design Team comments and suggestions: We liked this card as is. |
|
Bless the Loyal by Pinguito
Design Team comments and suggestions: We liked this card in general but thought it could possibly use a decrease in casting cost to 4 CMC. but that might be too strong. We will have to see in playtesting perhaps. |
|
Devotee of Chavest by TheDarkOak
Design Team comments and suggestions: Most were fine as is with this, one suggested making it a CC of 4W to make it more multicolor friendly. |
|
Fireheart Judge by CrushU
Design Team comments and suggestions: The name and the type are the only issue we had here. Judges are legendary and powerful creatures. We felt that this made a great knight though. |
|
Halo of Purity by landot
Design Team comments and suggestions: This is a clever card design that kinda spits on rules, squire1 is bound to like it. Some of us said that it could be "destroy" instead of "exile". Also it needs "This effect doesn't remove Halo of Purity.", or "protection from other enchantments" so that it works rule-wise. |
|
Swordmaster by Zarum | |
Design Team comments and suggestions: we all kinda liked this one with a few changes. We would rather it be a 2/2 for P/t and have cleave 1. That feels like a solid standard knight. Like White Knight with cleave 1 instead of pro black. Solid design. |
|
Knight of the Ruler by Terramune
Design Team comments and suggestions: One member suggested that it be a 2/4 and add lifelink and make the life payment 4 life. Another said it should be phrased thusly: "Defender. Pay 2 life: Until end of turn, Knight of the Rules loses defender and gains intimidate." |
|
Angelic Devotee by ilikeoldcardsbetter
Design Team comments and suggestions: Some members indicated that it was over powered as is and that it should have an activation cost with tap to activate citing Lieutenant Kirtar as precident. |
|
Tvoul's Destroyer by hubatish
Design Team comments and suggestions: No specific comments |
|
Deserter of Erous by ilikeoldcardsbetter
Design Team comments and suggestions: One member suggested that "successfully" be taken out. |

Ceaseless Knight, Halo of Purity, Juror of Euro, Bailiff of Shiob are all great white cards. My votes on Halo of Purity

If I have to vote for a second it'd be Juror of Euro. I voted for these cards because. A: Halo of Purity is amazing not only do I pop something in play I can protect my creature from treats or I can pop something and make somebody's combo undo-able for a small time. B: Juror of Euro is the perfect staple to weenie decks W to play that's a first turn move and it always gets through with damage.

I think bless the loyal is a great idea, though I think it should be 2WW because that will help reinforce its position with white, which is definitely heavier on lifegain than other colors. I think juror of euro is too overpowered for a one drop, should probably be 1W for 1/1 with cleave 2. I also like griels guard captain, seems like a really great and balanced card.

Fireheart Judge (Yes, I'm voting for my own card. Wee.) Because it's encouraging Red/White, which was asked for in the design. >_> I would be ok moving the CMC to 1WW instead, as firebreathing+first strike can be strong.
Ceaseless Knight/Juror of Euro. One of these should be there, it's a good white uncommon 1-drop; but not both. I prefer the Knight, to be honest.
(And if I shouldn't vote for my own card...)Greil's Guard Captain, for much the same reason as Fireheart Judge. I think his buff ability could stand to be better at the 5CMC spot, likely just make it not depend on him being untapped. (Avoids messing with combat math, encourages attacking with the Captain.)

Ceaseless Knight and Greil's Guard Captain. Both are very clean designs that I could see getting both tourney and limited use.

Thank you for supporting my card idea (Bless the Loyal). I tried to put the CMC on 5 to fit the power level of a Uncommon card. I know we got some Uncommons that are extremely better than lots of Rares but thats not supposed to be a rule. Being 4 makes it more likely to be playable, i guess.
I liked the concept of Halo of Purity. Having cards that do multiple roles expands the diversity of decks and strategies that it may fit. The only point is its cost. If the set come with lots of aggro/creature based decks it can become a too powerful card costing 2W. If so it could cost 1WW, for being a more restrictive cost.
Well, Bless the Loyal and Halo of Purity in my opinion!
Sorry for any grammar mistakes. =P

Chavest Reaper and Deserter of Erous.
I think a different wording for Deserter of Erous could be "When a creature enters the battlefield under your control, sacrifice Deserter of Erous."

Bless the Loyal and Halo of Purity get my votes. Though I really like Deserter of Erous, also.

Voting Yes for:
Devotee of Chavest (or Tvoul's Destroyer) - I feel the set really needs an angel, since demons & angels is one of the shard's themes. could put a demon/angel at common though!
Fireheart Judge - I really would like to see Blessed Knight (lifelink + cleave) instead of Swordmaster here, but lacking that option Fireheart Judge makes for a very cool White Knight variant. Great limited card.
I think the following cards could be made common without too much difficulty:
Ceaseless Knight This card isn't very strong; you're just getting in for 1 damage a turn like most 1 drops, & it gets stopped by 2/2 bears. Compare with Goblin Arsonist or Akrasan Squire.
Halo of Purity This card is pretty complicated right now, but if artifact/enchantments were destroyed instead of exiled, and it didn't have flash this would be fine as a common. If still too powerful, make it only affect artifacts, not enchantments. Comparable to Ravnica enchantments with enter the battlefield effects

My votes are for Knight of the Ruler and Juror of Euro.
I think we can all easily agree that the Juror would be a powerful white weenie staple.
Knight of the ruler, however, really brings out the "defensive aggro" element that tribal knight decks tend to end up doing. It adds a bit of risk and unpredictability to the board, helping you strike hard and fast at the decisive moment. Although I definitely agree with the designers in how the defender/intimidate phrasing should be changed. The rest, however, should be left as is.
Ceaseless Knight is decent for a one-drop, but the vigilance feels a little out of place with the cleave ability. If it gained first strike when attacking or something, now that would be awesome.

I vote for: Deserter of Erous, but get rid of successfully; and Fireheart Judge, but make it a knight.

Man I missed the boat on my design apparently. No love for the squire1 designs this week.

I think Tvoul's Destroyer could be at least 4/3, because it is very similar with Serra Angel (same cmc, but it is 4/4 and has Vigilance instead First Strike). ... And of course, since it is uncommon, we can't compare with Baneslayer Angel.
