Time and time again, we're always impressed with what our Tapped Out community has to offer! Now, let's get some formalities out of the way before we get to the top card submissions.
Voting Rules
- Each player should vote for their favorite cards below. Vote for one black creature card and one black noncreature card. You may vote for cards by users or design team members.
- Each player should provide feedback on the cards for which they voted, such as possible changes.
- Each player may provide feedback on any of the other cards that are presented as well. Just be clear on what cards you are voting for and which ones you are simply commenting on.
- Design team members will not be voting, so if you do not like their designs and you all vote for something else, we will not win (which is fine).
To help with your decisions, this link will give you some background about Chavest:

Alright, here we go. Take a look at these card designs and vote for your favorites.
Darkwood Apostate by Emrakool
Design Team comments and suggestions: Some members of the design team wanted the token to be a a 2/2 black Zombie creature token or a Zombie Elf creature token. |
|
Elvish Hunter by Superllama12
Design Team comments and suggestions: It was suggested that the CMC be increased by one and/or for the ability to trigget when the creature dies, rather than when it enters the battlefield. |
|
Elvish Predator by EleshBlade
Design Team comments and suggestions: The Design Team had no suggestions for this submission. |
|
Elvish Swamphand by landgrafb
Design Team comments and suggestions: The Design Team had no suggestions for this submission. |
|
Tharin'l Mourner by Smuggy
Design Team comments and suggestions: The Design Team had no suggestions for this submission. |
Eater of the Damned by Xander574
Asphirith's Farmhand by squire1
The Unending by $ªmHεiπ
Feigner of Life by mistergreen527
Bogged Down by STG | |
Design Team comments and suggestions: When compared to Cradle to Grave, it was suggested that the target be limited, such as to a certain creature type, CMC, power, etc. Also, the name may need to change, since this is very similar to Bog Down. |
|
Death Dance by Jarrod_0067
Design Team comments and suggestions: Since all targets have to be chosen as the card is cast, the players would have to "choose" a card, rather than "target" it. |
|
Mire Swap by Smuggy | |
Design Team comments and suggestions: The Design Team had no suggestions for this submission. |
|
The Rite of the Pure by Turtleman
Design Team comments and suggestions: One member of the design team preferred if you had to sacrifice a creature token as an additional cost to cast the spell and that it allowed you to return any creature in your graveyard to the battlefield. |
|
Tomb Cleanser by EleshBlade
Design Team comments and suggestions: The Design Team had no suggestions for this submission. |
Rising Earth by Xander574
Punish the Privledged by squire1
Necromantic Pulse by $ªmHεiπ
Mass Suicide by mistergreen527
All votes must be submitted in the comments below by midnight EST on Tuesday, May 22nd, 2012.
voting forThe Rite of the Pure. I get what the design team was saying, but at uncommon and at 4 mana I felt it was to hard to use correctly in limited. Maybe it needs to be a Sor instead of a instant.
My creature votes goes to Eater of the Damned with two changes, it gets changed from a shade to a Imp. Its more fitting with the tribe and flavor of the card. 2nd: it costs 1 mana to active its sac effect or it gets its flying removed. I don't like broken cards.
if the changes cant be made, vote goes to Elvish Predator.

My vote for non-creature spell goes to Rising Earth. I could see a card like this being abused over and over again in Legacy Terravore/Tarmogoyf decks.

Creature: Darkwood Apostate. I think it should make Zombie Elves.
Noncreature:Mire Swap. I don't think that the Unearth ability should be targeted. That way you could destroy your own creature with memento and revive it.

First vote- Elvish hunter with 4BB and ETB.
Second vote- Rising Earth.

Darkwood Apostate just seems weak. Not sure what it's supposed to do.
Tomb Cleanser sounds like a creature. I suggest changing it to Tomb Cleanse.
Death Dance: Each player chooses X target creature cards in their graveyard, where X is less than or equal to the number of creatures they control. Each player sacrifices X creatures and returns up to X target creature cards from their graveyard to play, but no more than the amount of creatures they sacrificed.
The only thing that can go wrong here is if they have 3 creatures, and 1 is difficult to kill. Then if they choose X = 2 during the casting of the spell and you kill one of the more vulnerable creatures, they are forced to sacrifice the difficult to kill one during the resolution.

@mozerdozer so which two are you voting for. i am not sure I can tell

To clean up mozerdozer's card:
Each player sacrifices up to X creatures, where X is the amount of creatures that player controls.
Each player returns up to X target creature cards from his or her graveyard to his or her hand.

Mass Suicide
Rising Earth
I think Tomb Cleanser needs a higher CMC.
May 18, 2012 2:42 p.m.
@Phalynxx you are supposed to vote for one creature and one noncreature

I would like to vote for Elvish Hunter at 4BB with an ETB effect and Death Dance. For wording Death Dance, I think it may be "Each player sacrifices a creature. Then, each player that sacrificed a creature may return a creature from his or her graveyard to his or her hand"

asphirith's farmhand and bogged down get my votes. I also don't think Elvish hunter needs to be any more expensive -- seems like the usual cost for a creature with ETB doom blade is 3; 5 to get that plus memento seems reasonable.
alternate names for bogged down -- 'scuttle' or 'early demise' or 'xenophobic strike'.

I'm enjoying the flavor and ramp of Mass Suicide. It's pretty straightforward, but the title is awesome and would be serious fun for token decks. A bunch of lesser minions killing themselves as an offering to their soon to arrive dread lord.
I could see art featuring a pile of dead bodies and a shadowy demon looming in the background :-).

I like my Elvish Swamphand (a little biased perhaps) and Necromantic Pulse.
I do think that the creature being sacrificed to the pulse should be a non-token creature to make it a little more fair.
May 19, 2012 2:44 p.m.
Elvish Swamphand: It's a turn 2 Dark Ritual
Mass Suicide: This one seems OP for an uncommon. Maybe a weaker Rare but definitely not the worst Rare. I'll vote for it though.

Voting for Elvish Swamphand & Death Dance (maybe Death's Dance?)
May 21, 2012 6:30 p.m.
I'll give my creature vote to The Unending, though I think it would be flavorful/useful to portray it as some kind of cursed elf, giving it a relevant subtype.
Elvish Swamphand and Asphirith's Farmhand are both cool creatures, but I feel that similar cards could be reworked at a common rarity.
And my second vote to Death Dance, but with either an increase in cost or change to sorcery speed.
Emrakool says... #1
After submitting Darkwood Apostate I started thinking maybe there shouldn't have been a sacrifice cost for the exiling and token. Still happy it made it to voting though. :)
