Game 1
Caley wins the toss and plays first. He keeps an opener of Dragonskull Summit, Drowned Catacomb, Desolate Lighthouse, 2x Barter in Blood, Gilded Lotus, Counterflux.
Elaine keeps an opener of Hallowed Fountain, Hinterland Harbor, Sunpetal Grove Izzet Staticaster, 2x Forbidden Alchemy, Unsummon.
C1
C plays Drowned Catacomb tapped and passes.
E1

C2
C draws Mystic Retrieval. He plays Dragonskull Summit tapped and passes.
E2
E draws Cavern of Souls. She plays Stomping Ground tapped and passes.
C3
C draws Dreadbore. He plays Desolate Lighthouse and passes.
Unexpectedly thin on land here.
E3
E draws Stomping Ground. She plays Hinterland Harbor and passes.
C4
C draws Drowned Catacomb. He plays it tapped and passes. End step, E casts Forbidden Alchemy. She keeps Havengul Lich and throws away 2x Searing Spear and a Nightshade Peddler.
The heck is this?
E4
E draws Clone. She plays Cavern of Souls naming Wizard and passes.
C5
C draws Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker. He does nothing and passes. End step E casts Forbidden Alchemy, keeping Watery Grave and discarding three other lands.
Going to need some land. One more will do to get me to the Lotus.
E5
E draws Nightshade Peddler. She plays Sunpetal Grove and casts the Peddler, then passes.
C6
C draws Mystic Retrieval. He does nothing and passes.
E6
E draws Steam Vents and plays Watery Grave untapped. (C 20, E 18). She attacks with the Peddler and hits. (C 19, E 18). She casts Havengul Lich, bonded to Peddler, and passes.
Unsummon ready.
Probably Dispel or Unsummon waiting for me if she played that untapped. Dispel only hits instants, though.
C7
C draws Mountain and plays it. He casts Barter in Blood. E responds with Unsummon on Havengul Lich. The peddler dies. C passes.
E7
E draws Unsummon. She plays Steam Vents tapped, then casts Havengul Lich and passes.
C8
C draws Watery Grave and plays it untapped. (E 18, C 17). He casts Gilded Lotus, then casts Dreadbore on Havengul Lich, but it gets Unsummoned again. C passes.
Thank god for Mystic Retrieval.
E8
E draws Izzet Staticaster. She plays Stomping Ground untapped. (C 17, E 16). She casts Havengul Lich, then activates its ability to bring in Nightshade Peddler, bonding it to the Lich. She passes.
Basically hoping for no Barter here. And no Bolas. And not more than one kill spell. This probably won't end well, I guess. But I don't have any other choice. I can't just sit here.
C9
C draws Island and plays it. He casts Barter in Blood and everything dies. Then he casts Mystic Retrieval on Barter in Blood. He passes.
E9
E draws Snapcaster Mage. She does nothing and passes.
C10
C draws Dreadbore. He casts Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker. Bolas blows up Cavern of Souls and goes to 8. C passes. End step, E casts Snapcaster Mage targeting Searing Spear, which she casts at C redirecting to Bolas, who goes to 5.
E10
E draws Nightshade Peddler. She attacks Bolas with Snapcaster Mage and hits. Bolas goes to 3. E casts Clone copying Snapcaster Mage and targeting the other Searing Spear, which E casts and redirects to Bolas to finish him off. She passes.
Awesome. THAT is how you kill a Bolas. Still in this game.
That was a good play, but it is probably futile; I have strong control over the board at this point thanks to my gobs of mana and my Mystic Retrievals. Killing Cavern of Souls reactivates Counterflux, also, and the presence of Desolate Lighthouse means enduring card advantage. My defeat in this game is unlikely.
C11
C draws Dragonskull Summit and plays it. He casts Barter in Blood to kill everything, then passes.
E11
E draws Kessig Wolf Run. She plays it and casts Nightshade Peddler, then passes.
C12
C draws Island. He casts Dreadbore on Nightshade Peddler, then passes.

C13
C draws Dragonskull Summit and plays it. He passes.
E13
E draws Nightshade Peddler. She casts it and passes. End step, C activates Lighthouse. He draws Swamp and discards it.
C14
C draws Swamp and plays Island. He casts Mystic Retrieval on Dreadbore. He casts Dreadbore on Nightshade Peddler, then passes. End step, E flashes back Forbidden Alchemy, keeping Izzet Staticaster and discarding three lands.
Ok, obvious that I have to go for the Wolf Run staticaster victory now.
E14
E draws Breeding Pool and plays it tapped. She casts Izzet Staticaster, but it runs into Counterflux. She casts another Izzet Staticaster. She attacks with it and activates Kessig Wolf Run for 1 and hits. (C 16, E 16). She passes.
C draws Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker. He casts it and E concedes.
Sideboarding
C boards in 2x Grafdigger's Cage and 3x Slaughter Games. He boards out 3x Mystic Retrieval and 2x Think Twice.
E boards in 1x Counterflux, 2x Negate, 2x Thragtusk, 1x Slaughter Games. She boards out 4x Nightshade Peddler, 2x Unsummon, 1x Searing Spear.
Game 2

C1

I want to have some mana open when I cast Thragtusk to scare him. I can afford this because he looks mana screwed.
C5
C draws Counterflux. He does nothing and passes, discarding Counterflux to get to 7.
E6
E draws Breeding Pool and plays it untapped. (C 18, E 16). She casts Thragtusk and passes. (E 21, C 18). End step, C casts Murder on it and E gets the token.

E12
E draws Thragtusk and casts it. (E 26, C 6). She passes.
C12
C draws Grafdigger's Cage. Bolas blows up Blood Crypt and goes to 12. C passes.
Crap, no more black. Not like it matters.

Comments
Another day of killing everything at the Bolas office.
I think you need to reconsider some choices in this deck. I think it is trying to be a midrange deck, but it's just too slow to live against an aggro deck, and control decks are going to kill it, like happened here. It needs to be faster, I guess is what I'm saying.

What would this Grixis do against another Grixis deck? A mirror match? Would it just be battle of attrition? Who can out-counter the other until the race to get Bolas out first wins?

@theemptyquiver - Against other Grixis decks, I usually have the advantage because of my extensive anti-control sideboard. Against a true mirror match, it would come down to Bolas, Drownyard, Staff of Nin, Counterspells, and after the sideboarding, Slaughter Games.

good games It is unlikely that anything is going to get through to bolas if it is creature heavy just because of having so many answers to them so Its going to be interesting to see what actually can beat this deck when one does so again.
for my deck getting featured next I played in a tourney today if i were to make changes to the deck would it be to late or is there time to do so?

@SwiftDeath You can make the changes as long as you do it by say, the end of the weekend or so?

I like what you've done with the Clone in game 1. Reminds me of the time I cast a Clone as a Burning-Tree Emissary , and with the 2 floating, cast a Restoration Angel , flickering it and making it come back as another Restoration Angel .
You are quite right about it not being very good against control, especially non-creature ones like Grixis and Esper as the Nightshade Peddler s and Izzet Staticaster s don't do much against those. I'm not really sure what's best to have in the sideboard for match-ups like that though, do you reckon I should sideboard planeswalkers of my own? More counters?
From my experience playing it, it does alright against aggro (mostly because of the Izzet Staticaster s and Searing Spear s) and is quite competent against midrange decks as well. Then again, I haven't been winning many matches with it lately. (PTQ was miserable.)
