You unlock this door with the key of creativity. Beyond it is another dimension. A dimension of combos, a dimension of chaos, a dimension of the cards. You're moving into a land of both victory and fun things and ideas. You just crossed over into... The Kitchen Table

With this casual series, I will be taking an idea, whether it be a combo or theme, and making 2 to 3 decks out of that idea. This will hopefully draw in more, newer players and possibly give you new deck ideas. So, what're we waiting for? Let's do it!!

The polar bear closes in on me. I can smell the carrion on its breath as it approaches me menacingly. I happen to notice something clenched in its paw. It's now a foot away from me, and I close my eyes, for I'm dead meat. Before it mauls me, is speaks:

"Hey! Do a deck on Winter Orb! Make it fun!"

I open my eyes in shock, but the beast is gone. All that's in its place is a playset of Winter Orb. I gather my sanity, pick up the cards, and approach the computer.

Sorry for the long wait everyone, I've been a lazy bastard, but I hope you enjoyed that intro. I felt like changing it up. Now, what we're gonna do is a GRAND MELEE of board lock decks. The decks you are about to witness have things like Winter Orb, Erayo, Soratami Ascendant  Flip, Dovescape and all the works. Ready? Let's do it!!

The first deck is gonna utilize Winter Orb. This card has been broken so much the doctors can't even put a cast on it (BOO! Bad pun!). Seedborn Muse works well with Winter Orb. Another card that could act as another Seedborn Muse is Nature's Will. That ensures you have extra mana and your opponent is screwed. Aether Vial can accelerate our creatures. So far, we have a mono green deck, and since we're in green, Elves might not be a bad idea. Aether Vial gives us the boost to get more Elves per turn and they provide extra mana as well. The final product is an Elf control deck. Here it is:

Winter Elves

Land

16x Forest

Creatures

4x Elvish Archdruid

4x Heritage Druid

1x Joraga Warcaller

4x Llanowar Elves

4x Nettle Sentinel

4x Priest of Titania

4x Seedborn Muse

2x Wirewood Symbiote

Other Spells

4x Glimpse of Nature

1x Concordant Crossroads

4x Nature's Will

4x Aether Vial

4x Winter Orb

Two words. Flipped. Erayo, Soratami Ascendant  Flip. Okay, maybe that was a little more than two words, but still. That card is the boss of all bosses. It'll even boss your boss around (BOO! Even worse pun! Does that even qualify as a pun?). This card can get very crazy very fast. Some things to remember about Erayo is that you could cast her as the first, second or third spell of the turn and use her toward the 4 spell count. If you cast her as the fourth spell, though, she won't flip out. With that in mind, a deck that quickly comes to mind is artifacts. Erayo, Soratami Ascendant  Flip works beautifully in a jank Affinity build, but let's make this as casual as possible. How about a wonky Graveyard-based deck. It's actually a brew I had in mind for months. It is kinda complicated, probably won't work, satisfying as hell when it does. It uses Composite Golem + Corpse Dance + Carnival of Souls to generate infinite mana. If really needed, Deathgreeter would supply life gain. But it would be a Prison Reanimator deck. Ooh, has a nice ring to it, rolls right off the tongue. Anyways, you could get Composite Golem, Erayo, Soratami Ascendant  Flip and Deathgreeter in the grave with Buried Alive or Careful Study. Then, reanimate Composite Golem with Corpse Dance and then sac the golem for WUBRG, the cast the same Corpse Dance from your hand, buying it back. Overall, the deck isn't really a Prison deck, but is is just to show off to your friends how cool some card interactions can be. Here it is:

Composite Ascendant

Land

6x Island

6x Plains

12x Swamp

Creatures

2x Composite Golem

4x Deathgreeter

2x Erayo, Soratami Ascendant  Flip

2x Hapless Researcher

Spells

4x Corpse Dance

4x Dark Ritual

4x Buried Alive

4x Careful Study

4x Exhumefoil

4x Carnival of Souls

4x Curse of Exhaustion

Alright, now for a better Erayo, Soratami Ascendant  Flip deck. This deck WILL flip tables. It's not a lock that should be prescribed to children. For your safety, and your opponent's sanity, play this deck only with extreme caution. To start out the game, the best thing to do is a Leyline of Insanity, erm, I mean a Leyline of Sanctity. That'll make most Burn player's scoop, and ensures you have life insurance. Then, you could combo off with a number of things, ranging from Lotus Petal + Sol Ring + Erayo, Soratami Ascendant  Flip + Urza's Bauble (Flip Erayo, start picking up land...) to Lotus Petal + Sol Ring + Tinker, sacing the land you played (Seat of the Synod maybe?), to search for trinkets like Blightsteel Colossus or even, gasp!! Winter Orb. Yep, that's right! Winter Orb is back!! An Erayo-Winter Orb lockdown hybrid to really piss off your opponents. Better bring a face mask when playing this deck, 'cause you're gonna get hit! Here it is, in all its douchebaggerey:

Flip Out!!

Lands

4x Adarkar Wastes

4x Ancient Den

5x Island

5x Plains

4x Seat of the Synod

Creatures

1x Blightsteel Colossus

4x Erayo, Soratami Ascendant  Flip

Other Spells

4x Tinker

4x Enlightened Tutor

4x Mystical Tutor

2x Curse of Exhaustion

2x Leyline of Sanctity

4x Azorius Signet

4x Lotus Petal

4x Sol Ring

4x Urza's Bauble

1x Winter Orb

Alright, I'm feeling generous, so I have one more deck for y'all. This one is a take on Dovescape. The core combo the deck is built around is Dovescape + Guile. With that, you OWN the game!! The only problem is, they both cost 6 mana to cast! How are we gonna get around that? Show and Tell comes to mind. What about Omniscience? That could wreck our opponent big time. So, if this is enchantment-based, we should do a Replenish strategy. This deck seems to be reminiscent of the first deck in Kitchen Table Chaos Episode 3 (or is it an ancestor, because this is part 2, umm...). Whatever it is, it seems viable. Also, as an agressive strategy with all the birds flying around, Pride of the Clouds seems pretty good. That would make Favorable Winds also great for the birds. I could go on and on about the cards that would be good with birds, but I will spare you the pain. Here is an Omniscience Dovescape Guile control deck:

Dove Science

Lands

4x Adarkar Wastes

4x Glacial Fortress

4x Hallowed Fountainfoil

8x Island

4x Plains

Creatures

4x Guile

4x Pride of the Clouds

Other Spells

3x Frantic Search

4x Mystical Tutor

4x Careful Study

3x Replenish

4x Show and Tell

4x Dovescape

2x Favorable Winds

4x Omniscience

have you considered making a deck on either Phyrexian Negator or Masticore (not both)?

No, but I was considering making a big series of episodes devoted to a single color. Maybe Phyrexian Negator and Masticore will get a chance to shine.

Near-Death Experience would be a very interesting card to build around.
