Hiya, everyone. During my late absence, I came up with a few ideas for content for the site that I am now ready to deploy upon you:

Option 1 - The Grand Tourney

This would be a once-per-year feature. Tappedout users compete in a grand tournament (using the completely free and easy-to-use online program Cockatrice) designed to produce a champion from each color of mana. Once each champion has eliminated their competition, they join forces with the other champions in a 5 vs. 1 multiplayer match to face a single truly dire enemy. The rewards for victory: sweet indeed.

Option 2 - KrazyCaley and miinor_threat Present....

More hilarious top 10 lists of the kind that miinor_threat and I used to do. If you don't know what I'm talking about, my buddy Dave and I used to write humorous top 10 articles. It's funny because we're like the Magic Odd Couple. HE likes creatures and damage, and I like counterspells and control. We do both pronounce "tomato" the same way, though. Copy and paste these bad boys because I'm too lazy to link them:

"Top 10 Counterspells"

"Top 10 Most Brutal Plays Ever"

http://tappedout.net/mtg-articles/2010/nov/7/krazycaley-miinor_threat-present-top-10-most-bruta/

"Top 10 Champions of Flavor Text"

"Top 10 Dragons"

Option 3 - Daily Dose Expanded

More decks, more formats, more frequently. At the expense of variety, I could improve the frequency and variety of the Daily Dose feature, including working on getting a video cast going, and perhaps some new decks per the request I most often get re: that feature. Although, I might need to kickstarter up any further decks; Magic cards have gotten so expensive these days.

Option 4 - Serious Analysis

I try to get some analysis of the metagame, card evaluation, etc. in during Daily Dose, but it could also be a series of focused articles designed to equip you for a format.

Example:

The old "Know Your Metagame" series; this article was about the old Mythic deck during ALA-ZEN standard.

Option 5 - Tutorials for Better Play

I used to occasionally write articles that offered gameplay tips and philosophies to improve your MTG. Examples follow:

"Tips for Intermediate Players":

http://tappedout.net/mtg-articles/2009/nov/16/krazycaleys-top-10-gameplay-tips-intermediate-players/

"Control 101"

http://tappedout.net/mtg-articles/2010/dec/13/control-101/

Option 6 - Silly Fun

Sometimes we write Christmas carols. MAGIC Christmas carols.

http://tappedout.net/mtg-articles/2010/dec/13/control-101/

Sometimes I fuse MTG trivia and zen koan haiku. It works, somehow?

http://tappedout.net/mtg-articles/2012/feb/20/magic-haiku-3-haiku-harder/

There are a lot of options like this that are just fun and quick and silly. Let me know if you'd like to see more of this kind of thing.

Option 7 -Deck Challenges!

I used to pose crazy fun deck challenges. Winners got prizes. It was fun!

Option 8 - Something I haven't thought of that would be cool.

Maybe you have an idea?

Tell me what you'd like to see in the comments below! Content makes the T/O go 'round!

Personally I'm voting number 7 with numbers 1 or 6 being back-ups.

Option 2! Top 10 lists are on my Top 10 list of awesome things!

The Grand Tourney sounds neato, too. Or really any of the above. But I'll just vote for one thing at a time.

I would think maybe we could do a mono color Noble tournament for #1? That'd be cool.

Honestly. All of them! I'd help!

Option 7. I mean, this is a deck building site.

I would like 7 best, but really, all of them work fine.

1 is my favorite, but 7 is close behind.

3, then 2. I love the Daily Doses (even though I only started reading them recently) and you can't go wrong with Top 10 lists.

Denial048 says... #9

Also, I know you want this topic to be about new Article Features, but T/O should totally implement a way to play against others, like on Cockatrice.

1,3,4,7

KrazyCaley says... #11

@Denial048 - We can't, alas. We would get the crap sued out of us.

Also, I could bring back the ol' Apprentice Workshop, where we take a deck that someone has asked for help on and focus group it among the whole community.

February 15, 2013 3:05 a.m.

Denial048 says... #13

Oh, Apprentice Workshop sounds awesome.

Also, yeah I figured there would be problems with allowing people to play against others.

Number 1 or 7, i can't choose.

February 15, 2013 10:05 a.m.

dcarpntr says... #15

They're all so good! I can't choose just one.

February 15, 2013 10:12 a.m.

I was always a big fan of the Apprentice Workshops. However, I also like option #4: Know Your Meta Game.

February 15, 2013 10:39 a.m.

DarkHero says... #17

Im thinking Option 2 and Option 5. Both if you can but 2 sounds funny. Like the prototypical Falkenrath Aristocrat vs. Olivia Voldaren debate

All of them!!!

But, seriously, 7, 3, 2, 4, 1 in order of coolness.

February 15, 2013 12:07 p.m.

Wabbbit says... #19

7, 2, 1 would be my order. All of them seem fun though!

7. I only did a couple but those challenges were fun.

Silly Fun, Top Tens, and Challenges- I remember the Grixis Carols, they were hilarious.

7. Can we keep our old stats?
February 15, 2013 6:57 p.m.

squire1 says... #23

I meant 7. Not 1. All 7.

February 15, 2013 7:15 p.m.

DNSolver says... #24

3 looks fun, with a second option being #4. I really like the current standard idea, but I think playing a variety of decks (or playing variations on the same deck that develop over time) would be more fun than playing Grixis Control for a whole week. Maybe you pick an archetype and develop it to be really good by the end of the week, or pick a color combination and visit all variations on it (i.e. pick R/W/U and do an aggro deck, then a flash deck, then a midrange deck, then some sort of control deck, then pick the best one and improve it a bit?)

DNSolver says... #25

Whoops, didn't realize the number key made it bold

February 15, 2013 8:52 p.m.

KrazyCaley says... #26

@squire1 - Yes, you magnificent bastard, you'd keep the stats.

February 15, 2013 10:36 p.m.

MagnorCriol says... #27

All of them sound interesting. I still laugh like mad reading the articles you and miinor_threat wrote, and silly fun is always, well, fun. Like mafteechr said, I'd love to see #7 because this is a deckbuilding site at its core. The Apprentice Workshop would be a lot of fun to see again as well.

It'd be interesting to see #1 but that feels different than the rest of them here, since it wouldn't be a daily feature really.

February 15, 2013 10:56 p.m.

Mythril_Sage says... #28

I strongly support options 4. and 5.

Also, the Apprentice Workshop mentioned in the comments is something I would love to see! =D

7 or 1 i loved the deck challenges

February 17, 2013 3:42 p.m.

Timekeeper says... #30

I would definitely like to see option 7, and then after that perhaps 1, 4, or 2.

February 18, 2013 12:19 a.m.

zaddos says... #31

I like the Deck Challenges Idea (#7) and the Focus Group for a deck that needs help idea. The focus group could help point out both the best cards for the deck and some budget conscience options.

February 18, 2013 7:43 a.m.

Wolfking3000 says... #32

I like deck challenges, so I vote 7. Also, I think card making challenges would be fun too. The winner of the card challenge could come up with the theme for the next weeks challenge. It's just an idea, but I think it could be a blast.

Xzallion says... #33

1 sounds amazing and fun.

7 would be fun as a fairly often thing. I know I would like to participate in some deck challenges.

5 would be greatly appreciate by the newest members, myself included. I always enjoy learning about different tactics and play styles.

2 is cool, its entertaining and fun.

If I have to choose only one option then I choose option 7, with 5 and 1 being the two others I would like to see the most after that one.
