On to the next one.
Our first community draft is in the books, and with Theros being released today, we're ready to begin a THS-THS-THS debate. For this, we'll need group leaders. Interested?
Don't know what this is about?
The Daily Draft Debate is a Tappedout community event. In its current format, groups of Tappedout users participate in a Magic draft conducted at a much more deliberate pace than usual. The groups debate on their choices every day and pick cards at the rate of one per day. The groups are coordinated by their respective group leaders. Once the draft is complete, the draft leaders actually play each other with the drafted decks (on Magic Online), and we stream it live.
If you want to just PARTICIPATE as a group member, but don't want to LEAD your group, there'll be a thread for you in a few days. Only sign-up here if you want to LEAD a group. What do you need to do that, you ask?
Requirements
To be a group leader, you ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO HAVE the following things:
1 - Availability/dedication/trustworthiness. You have to manage your group daily and make sure that picks happen in a timely fashion. You also have to have to be able to cooperate with fellow drafters in scheduling your games, once the drafting phase is complete. This is the single most important requirement; if a draft leader flakes, the whole event can be ruined. We were blessed with attentive draft leaders last draft, and I'd like to keep that trend going.
2 - A Magic: the Gathering Online account, or else be willing to get one (it costs $10). MTGO is available here. The software costs $10. No other cost applies; Tappedout provides the cards.
That's all the ABSOLUTE requirements. If you have these two things, you can be a draft leader. However, please note....
STRONG preference will be given to potential group leaders who....
3 - Are able to livestream their games, or be willing to learn how (it's really not hard!) Most computers capable of running MTGO can handle streaming, and MTGO is not a graphics-intensive piece of software, so even really old, ancient computers can be very much up to the challenge.
Also....
If ALL OTHER THINGS are equal AND we have more people wanting to be group leaders than there are slots for, I will tend to prefer people who
4 - Are longtime Tappedout community members, or otherwise well known to me as trustworthy/reliable/available.
So.
If you would like to be a Daily Draft Debate group leader, sign up by posting your username in the comments below (I ask that you post your username to ensure that no two posts are identical, which causes a little commenting bug we have on T/O).
Finally, the following four people have priority to be group leaders if they post, as three have been waiting patiently, and the fourth won the right to continue as a group leader (if he wishes) through victory in the prior Draft Debate:

Please do let me know if I need to provide additional credentials. I certainly fulfill the requirements, and trust me when I say that I'm highly motivated. If I remind you that I built your Bolas for a Better Tomorrow deck and played it at FNM does that help my chances?

DeckBuilder345 I would be willing to go again.

I am here to accept the challenge! I am probably the person will the least draft experience signing up for this but I make up for it with tenacity, luck, and insanity.
I do have a lot of experience in espionage and reverse turning tests though. I can also stream and have been streaming Magic online drafts for some time now.
However, to warn anyone that becomes part of my team, I am unafraid of doing the most wacky draft Theros has ever seen!

I really wish that I could be a leader, but with Organic Chemistry this semester, I suspect the time issue would be a problem. I'd be happy to join a team though.

I'm willing to give it another go as well, but feel free to prioritize additional new blood over me.

Just saying, the first 2 people on your waitlist haven't been active for a while, and I think landot said he wanted someone else in our group to be leader.

I can do the thing for landot if need be. I was present for a few matches and I have pretty much no life away from my computer. :p

smash10101 - I will be trying to get my stream up and running today (unfortunately as smash1010101)

Oh ya, also to put down my username just in case: Wodar

@Euphonatron - I'll accept you in place of landot, if that is the will of your team.
September 28, 2013 6 p.m.
Well, we don't seem to have other candidates. And we all want to stay together.
September 28, 2013 9:25 p.m.
I'd sign up, but I'd rather give other members a chance to lead groups, and I'll probably be busy most of the semester anyways

GureiSeion for president! He piloted our oxen from predicted last place to almost tying for second.

Absinthman - it was fun being a member of our team and even more fun to watch the games our leader played. I think I'd like to try it too. My only apparent disadvantage is that I live in GMT+1.

I would like to give my spot up. I don't think I'll be able to devote as much time as I would like to to the DDD during the semester. If we do another one during the summer I would be glad to be a leader but I think it would be unfair to my team and to others who want the spot to take it now.

@ChiefWannaHacka - I appreciate the vote of confidence!
(Just imagine what happens when I'm handed actual bombs! :p )

I'm good with our new landot replacement. It's the team that matters, right? ;)

@GureiSeion - who would hand you actual bombs? Isn't that a bit dangerous? ;)

Ok, we're about ready. Next person to volunteer who meets minimum requirements gets the spot. Also, Dallie, we actually NEED one Old World group leader; a significant number of drafters live there and need a similarly-minded group leader.

@Goody I was actually surprised that we made it to 7 so fast; last time it took about a week to get to 8! If you would like to sign up, I'll move us along right now. If it would be a burden on you, I'm fairly confident we can get an 8th.
September 30, 2013 7:56 p.m.
What the hay, I'll sign up, it was pretty fun the first time around

I didn't expect this to fill so quickly. When are you planning to start the actual draft? I'm coming back from vacation tomorrow and I'll spend the majofrity of time airborne. I will be available from August 3rd 9:00 AM GMT (August 3rd 1:00 AM PST). Is that a problem?
October 1, 2013 9:28 a.m.
KrazyCaley says... #34
@Absinthman - Probably about a week from now. So you're fine.
October 1, 2013 12:25 p.m.
Have the actual group leaders been determined? If so, who are they, and maybe they can tell us about how much experience they have and that sort of stuff, kinda like a little bio so we can be familiar with the leaders as the groups are being made.
I'm signed up to be in a group because I think this sounds like a great idea and would be fun, but I'm really hoping that my group leader (and hopefully people in my group too) has a lot experience drafting because it's something I've only done a couple of times and I'd like to learn as much as I can through this process.

@abenz419 - I will try to accomodate such requests. Will let you know in a bit.

actiontech - signing up for group leader this time around. Any chance I can pick my own team if I get selected? I'm in the US Central Time Zone.
