Another week, another update. Zac here, and I did a slight hiccup on the Tiered List (All Data) tab on last week's update. After 5 hours of trying to figure out what I did, I fixed the issue in about a half hour after that. No big deal. Thanks TappedOut User luke1 for tactfully pointing that out. :)

The Meta at a Glance

As for the new data, I can already hear the sighs and keyboards tapping away seeing Grixis Shadow continuing to climb, but let's pay attention to the rest of the format. Affinity has reached nearly 9% of the metashare. Titanshift finally distanced itself from the rest of Tier Two. UW Control had surged almost 1.5% since last week, which is a great confidence booster to those who had a lack of faith in the state of control decks in Modern. Similarly, Jeskai Control also had a decent week, having a ton of success at the recent opens in the past couple of weeks. Merfolk has finally gotten into the cutoff for Tier Two. We also have Bant Eldrazi finding its way back there as well, bringing back the good old days, racking up a lot of success online in the Magic Online Championship Series. As for the declines, Dredge continues to fall, as well as GBx based Death’s shadow lists. Graveyard hate is at an all time high, and it’s finally catching up to these decks. As usual, Living End is collateral.

Here’s the data for this week. If you’re interested in looking more into any of the decks on the spreadsheet, check them out on MTGGoldfish.

Feature of the Week

Before I close out, I wanted to feature a Jeskai Saheeli list that placed 25th at the Roanoke Modern Open. Oren Lagziel has been having much success with Saheeli, both online and in paper, and even a few pros are starting to talk about the deck as well.

Be sure to also check out Oren's Youtube Channel as he goes more in depth with his experience playing the deck at the open, as well as much more magic content on his youtube channel.

Conclusion

That's all I have for you this week. Thank you for reading this far. Please be sure to drop a comment here or on Reddit. 'Til next Monday, may your opening hands be keepable 7s, and your top decks are straight gas.

I shouldn't have to hear about control being bad as an excuse anymore, right? Sick of it.

To be fair, Modern basically banned any playable t1 draw, Doesn't have an unconditional 2cmc counterspell especially when decks are looking to drop a t2 Primeval titan (Looking at you remand) and due to the quality of creatures vs. spells in Modern it's really hard to justify playing natural draw go control.

Cast Out-moreso for t1 draw, reflector mage and Spell queller are looking to turn that around but as we all know. Wizards really, really hates Draw-go style decks.

This is my first view of this list. I think that it is really interesting. I've been pondering the idea of playing in modern again but more competitively this time. My biggest issue is just having the top cards as it is really expensive to acquire them. I have most of the pieces for D&T except a couple Arbiters and the 4 Vials and was thinking about playing that for a while. Matyrproc was my first dip in to modern. Or maybe a CoCo deck of some sort.

@TheManly1 D&T has solidly been in tier two for months now, so investing in vials would be wise, as they also are used in a few other decks in multiple formats.

As for MartyrProc, near the bottom, I featured one list in last week's update, which with some more fine tuning could prove to be a decent deck in the meta.

It is now my goal to put Infect, Ponza, UB Mill, and Cheerios on the map again to T3 where they belong! lol
