Hello and welcome back to the Lab Maniacs! Our video today features Labmaniacs_Dan with a guest appearance by competitive EDH player LimeBlue! This Deck Tech showcases the Sidisi, Brood Tyrant deck that LimeBlue played to an undefeated finish in the round robin portion of the /r/competitiveEDH Winter 2017 tournament. Despite going down in the Top 16 elimination rounds, this deck packs a wallop.

Sidisi is a food chain outlet. Thrasios is not. Lime Blue's tapped out moniker is voidia

@ Lilbrudder I keep forgetting that food chain mana can only be spent to cast creatures. For some reason it is stuck in my head as just a generic infinite mana combo. Thanks for the reminder.

Thank you for the video, I've been looking at variations of this sort of deck and it is great to hear about it from someone with so much experience piloting it.
I have a question regarding the Commander choice for the deck, and I suspect that it has been asked a lot but I was hoping you could address it here because I can't seem to find a Tapped Out account for LimeBlue.
Why run Sidisi, Brood Tyrant as the commander instead of Thrasios, Triton Hero + Vial Smasher the Fierce? With the partner commanders you get access to the Morselhoarder + Devoted Druid + Necrotic Ooze combo, which takes up less card slots than the one in the Sidisi build and is harder for the opponents to interact with because you don't need to give it haste, giving opponents one less opportunity to disrupt the combo. Having Thrasios means that you can win off of Buried Alive and a reanimation spell, because with just producing infinite mana you can then cast Thrasios and dig through your deck for Walking Ballista. Thrasios also combos just as well with Food Chain as Sidisi does.
Another side benefit of Thrasios is that as a 2 mana commander he is easy to drop on the board if the game is going slow and you need sac fodder for Dread Return or Diabolic Intent.
So is there a specific reason that I'm missing for running Sidisi?
