This is a great episode guys, you handle what can be a sensitive issue very well. Most EDH games at an LGS are for fun, and the truth is that if there's that one guy who looks to win with the same infinite combo asap then no-one has any fun. I don't know about anyone else but I really don't enjoy winning if the only reason is because I could afford better cards, especially if it puts a new player off EDH for good. Another option (alongside asking if they want any advice) is to offer them your deck to play with. Even if it's technically better than the rest of the pod, a noob won't be able to utilise it in an optimal way so the level balances out. That way they get to play with cards they perhaps might not get to otherwise and you can see any flaws from the other side of the table.
