Hi all, and welcome to the inaugural article of Deck Doctor. This is the start of a series that aims to take your brews to the next level, but with a bit of a twist - you will be highly involved in the process.

How will this work?

1/ Decks are chosen based on popularity. Users can paste their decks that they want to doctored in the comments. Whichever deck gets the most likes will be the one featured in a future article.

2/ Enable chat with me. I will personally message you on your wall and we can continue a more private talk.

3/ I will send you a series of interview style questions, that you will answer to form the basis of the article. For example, what is your budget, are you willing to splash, do you want additional win conditions, etc.

4/ I will build upon that information, craft the article and share with you the doctored version of the deck for approval. Thus the creator will be involved in the deck doctoring and final approval, while I will handle the article itself, relate the process, but you will have a lot of input both at the start and at the end of the process.

5/ Few more clarifications:

  • No restrictions on format - one week it could be Commander, the next standard, followed by Judge's Tower (I hope I did not give you a horrible idea).

  • I want you to be as involved as possible in this to generate a deck that you would actually build towards.

Final point:

This week, 2 decks will be selected instead of the usual one, to give me so sort of lead time. Additionally, for this week only, along with the deck submission, please submit an article series name as well. The current one is too generic.

I'm not sure how this is different from people asking for deck help, other than this is just one person helping with their decks.

What might be more interesting, seeing that you are liaising with the original deck builder, is to see a deck doctored in a couple of ways.

eg. What would a deck look like if you made it more Control vs Aggro vs Weenies vs Midrange vs Death and Taxes vs Group Hug etc.

You'd probably just choose two of those each time.

Might give people ideas as to how they can hone their decks in different ways.
