Cipher_8,
Also, Confront the Unknown + Zada, Hedron Grinder can be tricky; I think you need to check your example above.

When Zada's ability triggers, the copies are put onto the stack in whatever order you want, with the original spell (targeting Zada) on the bottom. So in your example (Zada + Silverfur + three other wolves), you Investigate then one gets +1/+1, then you Investigate again and the other gets +2/+2, ... then you Investigate the final time and Zada gets +5/+5. You end up with 5 Clue tokens, and (like you said) an additional 4 2/2 Wolf Tokens, for 8 total Wolves.

You also get 4 2/2 Wolf Tokens on your Expedite example.

Nahgg,
LOVE the ZadaFur combo!

Sorry if you already knew this but Confront the Unknown + Zada, Hedron Grinder can be a little tricky so I try to talk about it whenever I see it. When Zada's ability triggers, the copies are put onto the stack in whatever order you want, with the original spell (targeting Zada) on the bottom. So if there are two other Creatures, for example, you Investigate then one gets +1/+1, then you Investigate again and the other gets +2/+2, then you Investigate again and Zada gets +3/+3.

Really, the best advice I could offer is to drop by this thread sometime: All things Wolven. It's fun community, and the Hall of Fame decks, especially, are really well done.

Draw well!

skelterhell,
LOVE this combo!

If you haven't already, I recommend you drop by this thread sometime: All things Wolven. It's a fun and helpful community. Check out the Hall of Fame decks, especially!

snarlmkiv,
Well, it happens the same, but the different text on the Might vs. Confront yield very different results ...

Here's a long example of each, starting with Zada, Hedron Grinder, Silverfur Partisan, and a 2/2 Wolf Token on the battlefield. And assuming no counterspells nor Artifact (i.e., Clue) destruction from your opponent.

Confront the Unknown + Zada, Hedron Grinder :

  • Cast Confront, targeting Zada.
  • Confront is copied 2x, targeting Silverfur and then the Wolf Token (or the other way around, if you prefer).
  • Silverfur triggers for itself and the Token. Put 2x more Wolf Tokens on the battlefield.
  • The third Confront (on the Wolf Token) resolves. Investigate, putting a Clue Token on the battlefield. The Wolf Token gets +1/+1 until end of turn (or more if there were already Clues on the battlefield).
  • The second Confront (on Silverfur) resolves. Investigate, putting another Clue Token on the battlefield. Silverfur gets +2/+2 until end of turn.
  • The first Confront (on Zada) resolves. Investigate, putting another Clue Token on the battlefield. Zada gets +3/+3 until end of turn.

Might of the Masses + Zada, Hedron Grinder :

  • Cast Might, targeting Zada.
  • Might is copied 2x, targeting Silverfur and then the Wolf Token (or the other way around, if you prefer).
  • Silverfur triggers for itself and the Token. Put 2x more Wolf Tokens on the battlefield.
  • The third Might (on the Wolf Token) resolves. The Wolf Token gets +5/+5 until end of turn.
  • The second Confront (on Silverfur) resolves. Silverfur gets +5/+5 until end of turn.
  • The first Confront (on Zada) resolves. Zada gets +5/+5 until end of turn.

Hopefully that helps!

skittles10,
This is looking really good; +1!

A few quick thoughts:

  • I'm trying to get by with just Red & Green, but I really like the idea of some Blue. I'm with Gattison though ... if I'm gonna go to the trouble of adding Blue, I want some counterspells ... whatever combo or Void Shatter, Horribly Awry, Negate, and Dispel works best for your meta. Seriously, if you're just going for the Unblockable, you might be better off with some Rogue's Passage or a Trample effect (e.g., Rush of Adrenaline or Tread Upon).
  • I'm not a fan of Breakneck Rider  Flip at all. Geier Reach Bandit  Flip, maybe?
  • Sorry if you already knew this but Confront the Unknown + Zada, Hedron Grinder can be a little tricky.

By the way, you might want to drop by this thread sometime: All things Wolven; it's a fun community. And my attempt at the combo is here: Gruul Wolves (SOI Full Aggro).

Good luck (and good skill) with your deck! Please keep in touch and let me know how it plays!
