Great suggestions! Thanks for the feedback. It's been awhile since I've updated this deck, and I've actually made several switches -- Spell Rupture for Cancel (strictly better with any board presence at all) and Stubborn Denial for Negate (same thing). Anticipate is a psychological choice, since I can still threaten counterspells, but dig if I don't end up countering during my opponent's turn -- the important thing is that my opponent won't know which spell I'll play. Also, Lord of the Unreal + Phantasmal Bear is such a killer T1-2 that Serum Visions wouldn't be helpful enough as a 1-drop to justify its financial cost, as I own 0 copies currently, haha. Gigadrowse, on the other hand, I'll purchase ASAP! Great choice.

Cryptoplasm is a great suggestion! The variability is nice, as is 3 CMC, but its drawbacks are that you'd have to sacrifice any Illusion you target (Clone doesn't target, unless I misunderstand those rules) and Cryptoplasm would have to stay alive a turn until it could make itself useful. Totally worth a SB slot or two, though.
