SamsWrath on Grenzo Doomsday EDH (Turn 1 Kill!) copy

I've been playing a Grenzo, Dungeon Warden EDH deck for a while now and somehow missed the Necrotic Ooze + Phyrexian Devourer + Triskelion combo so thank you for that!

I've been playing since 93' so I have a pretty massive collection of power. Here's my version of Grenzo, Dungeon Warden EDH: Grenzo, Dungeon Warden - Choose Your Combo

I'm trying to figure out what to pull for Ad Nauseam.

Removed Phyrexian Devourer and Thief of Blood and put in Attrition and Exsanguinate Having the life gain and Sac outlet add to this deck's stacks implementation by making opponents sac their creatures and give me another life gain resource besides Spike Feeder This change also lowers the CMC even if it is only slightly...although in all honesty the Exsanguinate would only be used with just as high of a CMC if not higher than either one of the pulled cards. Also in actual gameplay I have never used the Necrotic Ooze + Phyrexian Devourer + Triskelion combo.

Here is a list of some of the combo's currently in this deck:

Icy Manipulator + Winter Orb Allows you keep your opponents lands tapped but not your own. Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Spike Feeder Infinite Life. Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Phyrexian Altar + Spike Feeder Infinite Life and Infinite Mana of any color. Ashnod's Altar + Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Spike Feeder Infinite colorless Mana. Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Triskelion Infinite Damage to any number of target creatures and players 1 point at a time. Necrotic Ooze + Phyrexian Devourer + Triskelion With the Ooze on the BF and the other 2 in the GY it goes infinite like the previous combo. Dictate of Erebos + Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest Add some tokens to sac, which eliminates blockers and tron with Mazirek. Grave Pact + Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest Same as previous.

Sakura-Tribe Elder is for sure a better choice, but you should have Steve in regardless. Because Meren can abuse the graveyard you essentially want to get value off low drop creatures with some sweet ETB affects. One thing you get to abuse with Meren is greens ability to blow up artifacts and enhancements. Green has many creatures that ETB destroy target artifact or enchantment, which is very nice because many decks rely heavy on mana rocks and sick enchantments. Yesterday I was playing a game and I had someone Nevermore my commander not even realizing that I had a Reclamation Sage in the graveyard and my deck being heavy around reanimation of course there was a reanimate spell in hand.

Now the Necrotic Ooze + Phyrexian Devourer + Triskelion I believe it works as Having Necrotic Ooze out and the other two in the graveyard. Reveal the top card of your library from the Phryexian Devourer ability and add X +1 counters to Necrotic Ooze adding to the +3 he already has from Triskelion. Essentially you can respond to the 7th +1 counter being added by removing some with Triskelion's ability not causing you to Sacrifice Necrotic Ooze. This combo I am newer using and have some uncertainty with. I prefer to use the Altar of Dementia + Devoted Druid + Quillspike

If you have Grave Pact and Dictate of Erebos, Butcher of Malakir is not needed. Why was Devoted Druid taken out? I would consider placing it back in but add in the combo piece for him Devoted Druid + Quillspike . You get an infinite power and toughness creature. With cards like Altar of Dementia it could be a mill combo or sacrifice it to Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord and kill all of your opponents. If no one has an answer to this you instantly win. There is also the OG Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Triskelion or Necrotic Ooze + Phyrexian Devourer + Triskelion . How this one works is by having Phryexian Devour and Trike in the graveyard with Necrotic Ooze on the batrlefield. TAKE A look at my They Will Never Die deck. Otherwise good deck build. +1

ty for you feedback, Free_Edgar1

I totally agree on my lack of sac outlets ill look into that and the suggestions you made for me. Also the boar wipes are indeed an issue for me since I lack good AoE board clear i do have Death Cloud i don't know if this is a good include for a board clear or i should go for 1 of the options you pointed out, 1 problem i have since i have no experience building magic decks is what cards should i swap out for these cards or what are some of my weaker cards that i should replace? I also got suggested the combo of Necrotic Ooze + Phyrexian Devourer + Triskelion for unlimited damage if phyrexian and triskelion are in the graveyard and necrotic ooze is on the field any thoughts on these cards for in my deck?

ty very much for you comment and the help and insight you have already provided me with.

It looks like you're headed in the right direction with this deck. Some cards that I would personally recommend (that don't cost too much) are:Fertilid -- It can ramp 2 basic lands and sac itself for 2G2C Avenger of Zendikar tokens for mana or field wipes once you have altars/pacts outStrionic Resonator - pay 2C and tap to double Meren's second triggered ability, bringing back 2 creatures at the end stepMindslicer + Sidisi, Undead Vizier - Make everyone discard their hands and you get to tutor a cardSavra, Queen of the Golgari - Just has general all-around synergy with what Meren should be doingMitotic Slime - a great token generator that can survive board wipes, or give Meren 7 Exp with a sac outlet activeBuried Alive - a great tutor for any deck where recursion is a main themeHornet Queen - helps you keep enemy fliers from whittling down your life totalUrborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth - fixes your mana and sets up hijinx with Cabal Coffers if you choose to invest $30 for the combo

As well as general ramp cards to set you up for success early game, including Cultivate, Kodama's Reach, Expedition Map, Sylvan Scrying, Rampant Growth.

Once you have some mana at your disposal, you may want a doubler or two to take advantage of it. Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger and Crypt Ghast can do the trick, but so can Liliana of the Dark Realms.

As user Stonewaul mentioned, you look like you could use a win condition to help your deck finish the game before your opponent does. There are two routes you could go here: one would be with infinite combos (of which Golgari has many), and the old-fashioned Black burn route.

For infinite combos, check out Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Woodfall Primus and any other sacrifice outlet or Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Triskelion . You could also go a little meaner and try Necrotic Ooze + Phyrexian Devourer + Triskelion , but this one isn't very interactive, and people will certainly hate you for doing it.

If you want to go the traditional route of killing people with creatures, try Avenger of Zendikar + Craterhoof Behemoth (props if you get there using your Birthing Pod).

There is also the burn route -- check out Kokusho, the Evening Star and Gray Merchant of Asphodel for multiplayer games.

Some cards that I would recommend removing include Havoc Demon and Golgari Thug as they seem like they hurt you more than help. If you are looking for selective wrath or wrath-like effects, try Attrition, In Garruk's Wake, and Gaze of Granite.

Good luck and try not to become too op! (My playgroup hates playing against my Meren deck because it is ridiculously efficient once it gets going) Meren can hold her own against the best of commander decks.
