Description

I've been working on this cube for a long time, changing it in size, distribution and power level.

I'm overwhealmed and fascinated by the difficulty of building a good Cube... It's amazing!

Finally I've come with a version that I think is balanced, open, represents and includes different and interesting archetypes, and has a power level that I think is the most fun for the cube:

For balance/budget reasons there's only one weird rule while drafting this: The so called "Panoramas" replace fetchlands here.

Their text is therefore changed, only deleting the word "basic" from them. That means they can fetch the Triomes from Ikoria, amogst other dual lands that have the fitting types.

An example of this would be an Esper Panorama fetching a Zagoth Triome. The activated ability still will cost you to tap the Esper Panorama, pay one colorless mana and sacrifice it for the effect.

The cube has very good fixing and if you do it well, you can draft 3 to 5-colored decks easily (also with the help of the signets, for example). But I don't want the fixing to be too quick. This has been the best solution for it and it has worked wonderfully!

Following, there's a vague list of the main archetypes/traits for each Guild (color combination). Nevertheless, the cube feels quite open and allows many other variations of these.

Don't take this list as something necessary to draft the cube! It's rather a basic guide if you don't want to go blind into the draft. At the bottom of this description there's also a link to CubeTutor where you can see drafted decks.

This list just shows my mental process while building the cube, and therefore is not very specific, meaning it can sound very cliché and general.

Selesnya: Midrange-Value / Lands / Taxes ——— Toolbox / Valuetown / Creatures

Azorius: Control / Tempo Blink Creatures ——— BW Shenanigans

Orzhov: Lifegain / Aristocrats / Tokens ——— Tokens & small creatures / recursion

Boros: Aggro winies / Burn / combo ——— Aggressive (Heroic / Prowess)

Dimir: Reanimator / Control / Midrange ——— Graveyard usage Control

Simic: Midrange Flash (Creatures) / Value Ramp ——— Counters, Value or Big Mana

Izzet: Aggro-Prowess / Control-Burn / Combo ——— Spam, Free Spells, etc.

Gruul: Ramp / Stompy / Midrange Burn ——— Ramp/Big Mana - Face

Rakdos: Aggro / Midrange / Control ——— Disruptive Aggro or Midrange

Golgari: Midrange Graveyard / Aggro Graveyard ——— Disruptive Midrange / Graveyard value

Every cube is based on the personality of it's creator and this one is made out of my personal collection of cards. I know there's always "better" or "more fitting" cards to certain archetypes.

Please don't hesitate to leave a comment and recommend me things, but also take in consideration that I wanted to make use of my existing collection of cards in a fun way. I never meant to build/buy a Cube from scratch.

I'm willing to make changes if they represent the cube's best interests: to stay fun and balanced.

The cube is called "My Way" not only because it is my personal cube, but also because I'm a musician, and there's this song called "My Way". Probably the most known version is the one sung by Frank Sinatra.
