Beginners
This series of decks is meant to teach total beginners how to play MTG. Each of the decks follows a fixed structure with only as much variation as the characteristics of the colors dictate. This balances the decks among each other. However they are exceptionally weak against other decks. Plus, they violate standard deck building rules.
The cards are selected to minimize synergy effects. This rules out most complicated decision making and allows unexperienced players to play almost on par with more experienced ones. However being balanced and simple may lead to stalemate situations among two decks, especially when White is played.
Each deck consists of
- 12 basic lands,
- 4x3 creatures with converted costs of 1,
(one of them intended to break defenses)
- 3x1 instant typical for the color,
- 2x1 wall that may deal some damage
- 2x1 creature with cost of ~4 and 3/3
- 1x1 flying creature for ~6 with ~ 5/5
- 2x2 creature enchantments
The sideboard is intended to introduce artifacts and show how cards interact creating basic synergy effects.
