Using Isochron Scepter and Sundial of the Infinite ?
Doesn't even matter that it's not your color. Just put two in the deck and you're good.

I like this deck's strategy almost as much as its flavor/philosophy. I could see people getting very frustrated coming up against this, but that would probably be because they themselves haven't mastered active inaction.
This deck makes me want to build a similar one, but mine's probably going to be pauper. Overall an interesting approach. +1

But seriously, how would you win with Barren Glory here? I'm probably just not seeing it, but if you don't mind explaining...

oh, but of course. The Barren Glory is the epitome of its mindset. What do you play when an opponent empties your table?
On a more pragmatic level, notice this deck is unlikely to ever play with more than three permanents. All of them bothersome. Opponents will pursue their removal.

Well, you'd have to find a way to get rid of your lands too. Maybe Renounce if you're still interested?

Well, thanks for pointing that out, now I think I've got something else.

I'll give you a hint. Thanks to your pointing out that requirement on Barren Glory, I've now found two cards that combo for the win in my deck. They're in the sideboard list ;)

Yerp, Angel's Grace + Near-Death Experience , good stuff.

I noticed the grace and experience synergy, but there's still no reason to put Barren Glory in this deck. There's no way for you to actively invoke it in this decklist, and it does nothing if you have lands out.
March 28, 2013 10:47 p.m.
I believe Barren Glory might be there just for the flavor it brings to the deck.
I can't see any way to use it either, but I'm writing it off as merely symbolic.

Indeed, I will only remove it in the event of horrible results while testing the rest of the deck.
The Sundial of the Infinite though, I find over-represented. Its use consists esentially in softening the Intervention Pact , and therefore two of those copies may soon turn into some extra protection.
Read the updates for some insight on recent card findings!

I see that Transcendent Master in the maybeboard. You've GOT to put one in the main deck for flavor. It's just too cool, and it can actually get something done while you're stalling. Like blocking (you thought I was going to ask for it to attack, didn't you).

I had it included briefly, but again replaced it for the Magus of the Moat .
As much as it may look like a flavor deck, I intend to give it serious use to the extent it allows me to. As such, I might need to resort to attacking, even if that shall only occur if the circumstances utterly require it. That's why the Transcendent Master is best in the sideboard.

Ok, first day to ever test the deck live.
You find people here and there saying their decks behaved fairly good, doing pretty well or half and half against this or that.
Well, this list didn't lose a game in all the afternoon, but one. Out of ten. Played against legacy, STD, MDN, Vampires, Gruul, Soldiers and whatnot. Lost to a guy with Liliana of the veil pretty much due to my refusal to use the sideboard for any game.

i would just sub Rule of Law with Curse of Exhaustion it costs one more, but it's one sided.

I like this a lot. This is the epitome of white's obnoxious stalling tactics, which for me usually involved 4x Pacifism 4x Arrest , though this obviously transcends that by far. I love the aesthetic as well, the deck almost channels a calm zen like dismissal of threats, until the divine army of angels arrives of course. Will be testing this.

See, I've found White to have an actual issue with 4 drops. It consists in... everything in White is a 4 drop.
Nearly every single card of which you'd say it's got an actual impact on the board, starts at 4 cmc. Chances are it drops for exact 4. And yeah, it may be one of the unspoken rules of card design, but it happens that for White, 4 drop staples are starting to seriously pile up. And players know it.
When you play against someone who knows the meta and you're using mono White, they -know- you're dropping something nasty on turn 4. Be it Wrath of God , Odric, Master Tactician , Leyline of Sanctity , Curse of Exhaustion ...
So yeah, the reason why I play Rule of Law instead of the curse is because if I need to drop it turn 4, that extra mana goes for a Rebuff the Wicked or an unexpected Mana Tithe .

Any low cost(price wise) replacement for Lotus Bloom ?
May 26, 2013 4:32 a.m.
incredibruhahaha says... #24
The reason Lotus Bloom is there is 'cause it enables you to play the Austere Command turn 4. That's usually going to happen two turns before Austere Command hits the table.
Permanent wipe turn 4 > Land and Hand wipe turn 6. That's what you're looking for.
Instead of Austere Command , pack Wrath of God main and Fracturing Gust side, all the way around if your meta plays affinity. Pack more Path to Exile and Rally the Peasants /Spectral Procession , and use one against the other in order to get cheap early blockers and that extra land before turn 4.

:)
Say, what are the Sundial of the Infinite used for here? Dodging the Intervention Pact payment if it's imprinted on Isochron Scepter ? Also, I don't see any way for a Barren Glory win. And you're missing 1 card. And... just kidding, +1 :D
